I have a Desperate Dan chin and also partial to cow pie..... Over a year back now, the hospital Doc put me on the anti-coagulants. The NHS in UK advise you to take up using an electric razor for shaving. Good advice , as nick yourself with a blade and you have a blood bath on your hands .... I bought a reasonable Phillips shaver from Lazada. It takes off the stubble but not as good as the wet shave. Two shaves a day are required........

Immigration Officers Charged Over Illegal Visa Malfeasance
brianburi replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What's illegal???, my agent assures me everything is just fine. You can do everything by the Line App now. No need to even visit the office or immigration. Still require a couple of photos/ bank book and passport sent by post. Long may it continue.... I'll keep my 800K elsewhere thx. -
reminds me when I asked a well dressed girl who was dining with an elderly gentleman if he was her boyfriend. No she said, 'he just customer, boyfriend come from England next week'.........

Concrete Kitchen Questions
brianburi replied to stament's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Why build two kitchens?. Never understood that as it was told frequently to me when I arrived here . Built two houses one in 2007 and second one in 2010, both just one kitchen. My wife cooks her fair share of stinky food and likes to eat fish a lot. I bought her a sturdy BBQ and she cooks out in the fresh air...... -

https://paultan.org/2022/08/09/2023-toyota-vios-debuts-in-thailand/ OP is asking about the new Yaris Ativ which is replacing the Vios here. I have the old model bought in 2018, good cheap motor to run and get serviced anywhere, unlike Honda's -
Top 10 tips for successful lving in Thailand !
brianburi replied to Social Media's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
'Foreign passport holder' is the new phrase in town. Brought in so as not to upset the 'I live here , married a farm girl, gave her everything' brigade who quite possibly make up the bulk of forum membership......... -
you seem to have a lot of time on your hands, maybe drop an email to all the Immigration Offices informing them of the rule change. You can add Phetchabun to your list of rogue offices. Still 1600 Baht fine for not doing a TM30 on return to your residence after an overseas trip.

For retired expats What do you do for excitement
brianburi replied to kingstonkid's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
keeping one step ahead of my young, high spending wife is all the excitement I need........ -
I'm in UK at the moment but will be flying into Thailand next week. I was looking at the mobile app and noticed there is a space for TM6 number. As they are suspended at the moment will this make any difference to your application? I live in a province where Immigration still insist on reporting within 24 hours of arrival at your residence. I have had previous with the IO's on this.....

Bread falling after cooking in the oven
brianburi replied to Kenny202's topic in Western Food in Thailand
Kenny hopefully I can provide some suggestions and advice on your baking woes. Keep your yeast in a container/plastic bag in the fridge once you have opened a new packet. Modern yeasts are quite powerful now, with the British company "Allison Easy bake yeast" you can get away with just one rise. Mix, shape , proof, bake. Unless you have UK buddies who can get you that we are all stuck with the made in Vietnam stuff over here which is all good too. Have a look at your water content in your recipe, if it is a very slack dough and you are not an expert shaper they will spread out before going in the oven. Baking tins, and plastic round bowls are good items for keeping a bread in shape. For fermentation time, watch the bread dough as it rises, in the temps here it will do that quickly. I keep my doughs covered in plastic bags for about 1 hour, give the dough a quick stretch and fold and put them in the fridge for about 1 hour. This keeps the bread dough quite cool, you don't really want dough over 25c. Those internal temp gauges are good for this. Bench rest/pre shape and a quick rest before final shaping and again with the temps here a second rise for 45 mins to 1 hour. Again watch the dough, that's the secret with baking.... The poke test is still a good test to see if the bread is about ready for the oven. Oven temperatures for baking bread is a hugely debatable topic, along with steam for ovens etc. I like to get the oven at a very hot temp 220C/230c. Spray the loaves with water and in oven at that temp for 5mins or so. This gives a really good oven spring. When you see the loaves almost doubling in size, you know you've cracked it. Lower the temp to about 190c and bake to done. If in tins I take them out just to get them baked all round. In the bakery I worked in we never had those bright shiny tins. All the trays and tins were black metal types. The meisterchef said the shiny ones reflect heat and the bread takes to long to bake.... <deleted>, but bakers have many such secrets and rarely give much away in advice... -
Transfer extension stamp to new passport
brianburi replied to SebBkk's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That was the case at our IO. Only takes a few new up starts posted in and voila ABC kicks in. Fee now 500B and our office still insists on new TM30 when re-entry here and arrive back home.... Phetch....
