BS, construction was only blocking Urban for 3-4 months which is good for Thailand standards. Also has nothing to do with "The Urban"
-
So happy this thread means I'm ahead of the rest and bought "The Urban" off the plan 16 years ago on Soi 15 😀 Fantastic Juristic management so still like new and no short term renters allowed. Wifi, Gym, Sauna, cable TV and 3 pools all included. Can turn left to walk to walking street or turn right to walk everywhere else that matters And for the renters saying you must be able to move when your neighbours are so noisy, i've ever had a bad neighbour 😀

New Visa fees beginning on 19th March 2024
Pattaya57 replied to Kiwifarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Wow, Thailand as a holiday destination just lost a few points. No way would I pay $300 for a 60 day visa to go anywhere (especially when 30 days visa exempt is free) Vietnam US$25 for 90 days looking much better value -
That was my point, why do people not know to "just go to Lazada"

New Visa fees beginning on 19th March 2024
Pattaya57 replied to Kiwifarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why would anyone pay $300 for a 60 day tourist visa to Thailand? Can go to Malaysia for 90 days visa exempt or Vietnam for 90 days for US$25. -
So funny that every "where can I buy..." thread ends up with the same answer... go to Lazada lol

New Visa fees beginning on 19th March 2024
Pattaya57 replied to Kiwifarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thai visa from NZ and Aus are roughly the same (e.g. NZ$60 and A$60 for a single entry tourist visa). These new prices are insane, how can a single entry tourist visa be $300 and a multi-entry $1000 And a non-imm O going from $120 to $800. That means the non-imm O in Thailand could increase from 2000 baht to 13000. Crazy -
Flights from Singapore to Australia, with a touch of class.
Pattaya57 replied to sipi's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I'm looking at the reverse wanting to fly from Brisbane to Bangkok one-way. Flight prices are still ridiculous as pre-covid return economy was $850, now one-way on Singapore air is $1032. One-way Business Class is $3012 -
Can't quote the paper but two weeks ago an article said all the new parking bays on beach side of beach road up to Pattaya Klang would have parking Meters trialed (if successful would be added elsewhere)

How many millions of baht does one need to retire in Pattaya?
Pattaya57 replied to advancebooking's topic in Pattaya
I'd hate to be retired and have to drop Netflix to save money. It's only 149 baht per month so go two beers a month less instead 😀 -
Oh no, how will Pattaya survive without you...

I own a brothel. Works out great as I get to "interview" all the new staff to ensure they know how to best give customer satisfaction... ...oh wait, is this not the usual fantasy thread from OP. In that case no, but wouldn't mind an Otteri laundry franchise

They have made many parks available on beach side of beach road. Made specifically for parking there in fact. What are you going on about?

You can always tell the insecure, worried that some fit navy boys are in town so they won't be a handsum man this week-end lol

How many millions of baht does one need to retire in Pattaya?
Pattaya57 replied to advancebooking's topic in Pattaya
You buy a condo that includes a gym. Problem solved My condo includes Gym, Sauna, Pool, Wi-Fi and Cable TV so no extra outlay required. I'm also within walking distance (or baht bus) of anywhere I like to go so dont need a car. That's why my monthly spend is only 30-40k even though I don't even try to budget (spend whatever I want) -
Transferring Visa into new passport
Pattaya57 replied to Jaunty's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My passport expires Sep 2025 so was going to renew now to save changing over during non-O extension, then I found that to renew an Aussie passport in Bangkok costs 11,370 baht ($346 + $150 overseas applicant fee). At that cost I decided to be cheap Charlie and get the full value out of my current passport 😀 -
What happened to you being in Pattaya in Jan or Feb to pay a young fit labourer 500 baht per day for 8 hours of wrestling in your room?

Chanthaburi Still Takes TM-30 Seriously
Pattaya57 replied to HappyExpat57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you just did your 90 day report, then wouldn't your last 90 day report have been done late November? So why would a 4 day stay in Pattaya in October, a month before you did your last 90 day report, affect your latest report? -
Pattaya minivan visa run to Cambodia, recommendations?
Pattaya57 replied to whitemouse's topic in Pattaya
Do people questioning the cost of a Pattaya - Cambodia border run realise that the included Cambodia entry visa costs US$36 =1300 baht So that means the real price to use agent is 1700 baht for 9 seat van to travel 500 km round-trip and have agent apply for visa and assist exit and re-entry across border. How can that be considered expensive for the work they do? -
advise needed. visarun. got rejected on airport
Pattaya57 replied to popel's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
First off you are only considered a tax resident if you stay 180+ days and have > 120,000 baht of Thai assessible income. Nothing to do with how long one stays in Thailand as a tourist. I stayed 270 days in 2022 (visa exempts and one 60 day covid extension) and 225 days in 2023 (visa exempts + one tourist visa). I'm a tourist and they just issued me another tourist visa to come back in March -
Pattaya minivan visa run to Cambodia, recommendations?
Pattaya57 replied to whitemouse's topic in Pattaya
From memory mine was about 3 hours 15 min to get there (break in middle) and 3.5 hours back (incl free lunch stop). So I guess that leaves about 2-2.5 hours at border. I just reclined my seat and slept most of the way to border so it wasn't a problem for me. -
Non-Immigrant Visa Type O-X
Pattaya57 replied to BaanOz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sydney Consulate states A$150k bank statements, whereas every other source (including Canberra) says 3 million baht in Thai bank. It would be great if you could advise if you applied with A$ in Aus bank? (I emailed them for carification but they never replied) -
Pattaya minivan visa run to Cambodia, recommendations?
Pattaya57 replied to whitemouse's topic in Pattaya
The few I visited were 3000 for 9 -seater vans, while 1st Class visa is only 6 luxury seats. The better comfort for a 9 hour trip was well worth the extra 700 baht for me.
