Foreigners Face New Hurdles in Opening Thai Bank Accounts
Ben Zioner replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That was exactly my comment. But seeing the arrogance of some of your replies to other poster.. bye. -
Yes but this fact must be well published. Only one in five men diagnosed with prostate cancer will benefit from immediate radical treatment, the others can get on with their normal lives for 5 to 20 years. They will probably die with their prostate cancer, from some other ailment. And as this is now reluctantly accepted by the medical profession on may wonder about about the millions of men who have been unduly mutilated.

Foreigners Face New Hurdles in Opening Thai Bank Accounts
Ben Zioner replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well, no I am not overthinking it, but it doesn't need it. Some Thai authority has determined that, to be worth the cost and risks for the country, a foreigner on a one year retirement visa should spend at least 65000 THB a month. And it seems that some can't fulfil this requirement and cheat the system. Zero thinking is needed here, is it? Now when it comes to tourists, 65k is what most of them spend in 3 days. "Think" about it.. -

How could they support the local economy when they have to resort to "illegal" visas, because they don't meet the rockbottom requirements set by Thai Immigration to ensure that they do contribute.- 453 replies

Trump is an idiot, and only opens his stupid loud mouth. He has nothing to say or to do apart from delivering the hardware Israel orders and pays for. Nothing else.

Obviously your first year in Thailand. Within a week or two those rubber trees will be dressed in nice soft green.

Thailand May Ease Overseas Income Tax Rules Amid Global Changes
Ben Zioner replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The thing is if that when caught, even a small amount of tax at 1.5% a month plus fines can become 7 figures when applied to 10 past years. I know of a lady with a successful on line business who got caught after many years, but they just charged and fined her for one year and got her into the system. So it is not always a total disaster, but it depends on who you are, who you deal with and who is representing you. Don't try to handle that without professional help. -

Dunno, I won't speculate on number, but those who haven't should be extremely cautious when dealing with TRD. They may owe some, possibly a lot of, money to TRD. -
Thailand Steps Up Enforcement on Illegal Foreign Teachers
Ben Zioner replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
You should ask the great Aussie teachers who run English classes for immigrants. Here one of those heroes. https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-larbalestier-48893430/ -
My bad, it is true that I tend to amalgamate Fascist, Nazis, etc. They are "same same" AFAIAC. Just as our children will amalgamate Fascists, Nazis, MAGAs and Republicans. And I am sorry the [few] Republicans that are left. Ooh BTW have you heard of the Sudetes?

Thailand May Ease Overseas Income Tax Rules Amid Global Changes

That's misleading. Pre-2024 income has always been taxable if remitted during the year of earning. If you get audited you may get taxed and fined on undeclared untimely remittances made in the past 10 years. This is why those who diligently file returns might have a point. -
You missed the point, the question is why have the Republicans embraced Fascism. There have been many [near] normal Republican presidents in the past. Now we are back to Munich.

Thailand May Ease Overseas Income Tax Rules Amid Global Changes

You are dreaming. Any change will have to wait until next year to take effect and will be measures relieve the tax burden of those who want to reinvest in Thailand significant wealth from overseas. RD 743 and some of the DTAs already protect foreigners. -

But in every instance the Tax due was reported as zero or negligible, so why not? They just followed the rules. If my tax office was in Silom I'd do the same. But I live in Nakhon nowhere and I doubt anyone here knows about RD 743. -

Isn't that all nicely covered with the LTR visa? I know the other Ben [Hart] would say LTR is BE (Bovine Excrement). -

Forced to book a hotel on the spot
Ben Zioner replied to Saigon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What from? This IO was doing her job, and she let you in as a tourist even though didn't of the bookings genuine tourists have. Having you to book a hotel only was nicely lenient of her.
