Thailand Faces Economic Question: China and EV Cars
There is an easy solution, the one the EU is infighting over, no more ICEs after 2035. But it can only work if the likes of Mercedes are told to shove off when they come whingeing. Kudos to Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, who has decided to sell and support Chinese made EVs in his network.

Legal Strategies to Reduce Thai Tax
There is also this interesting bit, which didn't surprise me though: "Thailand signed up to the automatic exchange of information – Common Reporting Standards (CRS) – in 2020. They receive data from over 130 countries that are signed up to CRS. Thailand’s Revenue Department have links with other revenue department software, and they share information automatically every quarter for bank accounts, pensions, credit cards, as well as the account balances and transactions within that quarter for Thai tax residents. Therefore, the information is already being remitted and sent to the Thai Revenue Department."

Legal Strategies to Reduce Thai Tax
Sorry I was babbling, but my point/question was wether the 250K paid directly by Cigna to Bumrungrad, for my medical treatment should be included in my assessable income.

Legal Strategies to Reduce Thai Tax
Had a Cholecystectomy a few weeks ago, my insurance covered through direct payment of 250K, was wondering if I'd have to include those 250k in my tax return if I had to make one. Fortunately not.. But if I lost my LTR privileges the only option would be to seek treatment in Malaysia, possibly Singapore. So another small loss for a Thai industry. And all these small losses added up could become significant.

Legal Strategies to Reduce Thai Tax
Hmmmhhh, it would cost me a lot more the 190000 in extra trips to Bangkok, if my wife was over 65.

Just got my Yellow house book and pink ID card....
Yes, they are probably worth getting if you have a friendly amphur. Yellow book I've always had, one day my wife came back, tap tapped my rear, kissed me in the neck and handed it over to me: "Teelag here is your lellow book". I had now idea what it was. Pink card I got recently, the guy issuing them is a [real] friend and it was nice a have a coffee while talking about the kids.

Legal Strategies to Reduce Thai Tax
Yes, but if I were RD I wouldn't tax the donee, but I'd consider that to make such donation someone has remitted these funds to Thailand and hence is taxable, if these funds were earned after Dec 31, 2023. I don't believe one second RD would leave such a gaping hole open.

Aren't all gifts taxable above 20M Baht (about 550000 USD)?

Legal Strategies to Reduce Thai Tax
I agree totally. But let's imagine a 2 bis case. Cyril transfers 1000 Pounds to one of his wife's overseas accounts, which she then remits to her own account. 2 ter would be the same but she declares it as income.

Dentist for an implant
Indeed, had to get a tooth pulled there and asked what the cost of replacing it would be, 150000 plus minus was the answer. I have an appointment at Smile Signature EmQuartier now, but I'll only proceed if it as a plain vanilla, no bone graft case. I am 71 with 30 teeth right now.
