  1. If she wants to have it both ways , I'd rather do it to her aunt.
  2. I tend to look at that from a different angel.
  3. Got an ASUS box sitting next to a Roku, I want them to mate so that I get the ideal box for a TV addict geezer..
  4. Well, you'll need about 50 trucks of stones/gravel at about 3500 a truck plus one day, possibly two, for a grader. Just done 60 meters of that with a wheelbarrow, shovel, pickaxe and rake.
  5. You are ok, but there are people on OA who have to purchase some "empty shell", "worthless", Thai insurance while they have very strong coverage from their home country and/or their former employer. I was able to avoid this as I all my prior [OA] extensions were under the "Thai Wife" category.
  6. I see a potential issue there: if for any reason we lose our LTR visa they might reverse to the OA rules, hence the need for a "worthless Thai health insurance"... Ok, ok, clearly sinking too much.
  7. Honestly, even in the west not everyone make a full recovery after a complicated femur fracture. One of my mates ended up with multiple fractures of his femur after a bad landing . Once healed they broke his bone and stretched his leg millimetre by millimetre over 3 months he had to spend in bed. But it worked.
  8. Khun Prayut has been more visible in recent weeks. Maybe he has reason to believe that we have to wait until next May to get a new Prime minister.
  9. Yes, just forget OA/OX, go LTR, or O if you can't match the LTR's requirements. The main advantage of dealing with BOI instead of IB is that the staff comes from Thailand 2025 while IB is populated by Thailand 1700.
  10. U must be some Thai army general.... Hotels I could book for 1800 pre covid are now at 2500, so how much is that? I could go on with NZ meat, pasta etc... I don't base my comments on some manipulated data I can read on the web, this is real life.
  11. Reckon closer to 25% for the whole Covid disaster. Electricity, Hotels, all imported foods, etc. My pension went up 17%, exchange rate ok, but I feel poorer.
  12. Nope, the largest group are the pensioners. so far they haven't reached 10k, but issued several thousands of stamps. BOI is just great to deal with. Young, english speaking graduates. There is data on the LTR thread, in the visa section.
  13. Why does it work for LTR? It works to the extent that many are now dumping their AOs for the LTR.
  14. So easy to fix, just copy the LTR visa HI requirements: any [overseas] insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 50000, Social Security, or USD 100000 cashflow.
  15. Naahh, the Kingdom is great, so we don't need democracy.
  16. I am nearly 71, so glad if I get another 5 or 6 years and the exit isn't too painful.
  17. Ok, remember 9/11 and watch "Dupont Lajoie". Must admit that there was I time where I was also peed off with Arabs; when I had to work on the inventory of hardware and ordinance they had left behind in the Sinai.
  18. Can you use KY to insert them?
  19. And their 74 years old boss wants to come back home. The <deleted> had anticipated that there was room for some deal a while ago.
  20. I agree, whatever my/your current performance is, these numbers are ridiculously low. And what is their definition of a a sex act? When I was 15 I was J..k..g off 4 or 5 times a day, does that count?
  21. I have the feeling that Mr. @Kwasakithinks this is smart comment but sadly it is plain dumb and is a weak attempt of ignoring the reality. Anyone single, who had a middle class lifestyle back home, will need that sort of money to keep his standard of living. What is the rent for a good 70/80 sqm condo in Silom? A barely decent bottle of wine costs 700 Baht. The near free good quality healthcare is now an expensive private hospital, and so on..
