  1. The truth is it's almost impossible to separate the recreational part from the health part unless you're only using CBD and only CBD isn't good enough for many health purposes.
  2. I have no idea what they're talking about. I recently visited a "Cannabis Health Festival" at Central Festival Mall Pattaya. It was quite large and I visited many booths to look at the products for sale. Not one vendor had a doctor on site. Not one vendor asked me what health ailment I was seeking help with. Talking to the vendors "health" wasn't mentioned even once. One nice clearly baked guy did suggest his favorite strain with advertised effects -- MAKE HAPPY. Come on man. This is a farce. Like "illegal" prostitution. Not complaining but all this posing is ridiculous. BTW -- I do find a great health benefit from cannabis. Almost total relief from chronic lower back pain. I would be very bummed out if they recriminalize cannabis here.
  3. It's obviously because they want to make it easier for foreigners who have that close a connection to Thai people to be able to stay. Retirees can live here with no connection to Thai people. It's a social engineering policy which I think almost all governments do in many spheres of life.
  4. Indeed. A humane option which of course they won't do is to allow retired expats to buy into the Thai national health system at a multiple cost.
  5. Yes. But there is something to be said for leaving some things up to the imagination. I was forced to try this sport (ever so badly) in junior high gym class. Not my cup of tea to actually do.
  6. I want to say thank you for all the responses. I definitely learned more about the BB secured credit card here and I assume others who might be interested have as well. This forum can be really great for this kind of function and quite often very quickly as well (as has happened in this case).
  7. OK. Perhaps this isn't a problem for you but what IF comprehensive health insurance is added to the visa requirements for that? I'm sure there is nothing in the contract to say that isn't possible as after all that would be an immigration decision and they can do anything they want.
  8. I knew something was up when my youtube algorithm starting pushing Greco-Roman wrestling vids on the daily. I tried to resist watching, not wanting the old algorithm to get too much of the wrong idea (I do have many other interests such as the Russia-Ukraine war), but of course I couldn't resist occasionally having a peek. Also, they seem to feature thumbnails with the biggest bulges shamelessly calling out to a certain kind of audience. I realize many of the athletes are gay or bi, but it somehow feels a wee bit wrong to perv too much on their enthusiastic "innocent" competitive endeavors. So, again could Greco-Roman wrestling possibly be any gayer?
  9. I don't get it. 200K isn't enough for visa qualification for anything I'm aware of. But clearly different people have different needs. My visa account is at SCB and I if I need more than 50K credit for a trip, I can just add whatever amount I need to the credit account.
  10. Yeah I think 20 to 30 is a normal tip. It's not based on percentage of bill.
  11. Just on cue I just had a delivery. Driver had a bad limp. Accident. Don't tell me it's a safe job.
  12. That was very informative. Thank you. Your post appears to confirm: That you can open with 50k for 50k credit That it is possible to add to your credit limit without raising the original base amount That at least for my purposes there is no reason to open it higher than 50k. That's wild about the automatic sometimes double payments. Is the auto payment done just before the due date? I will definitely ask if that's required or if it can be turned off. Not too worried about delays if existing as 50k isn't life changing. I assume your name is printed on the card, correct? How about address? I assume it's the same address you used to open their bank account You need the address to match for online purchases when they ask for address.
  13. Yes of course. But as said if you can open with 50k and temporarily add all you want to cover current activity while still keeping only 50k permanently locked up that seems ideal to me.
  14. Thanks. But I really think that has changed. I explicitly asked the minimum to.open. Answer 50k.
  15. I won't include the previous post as it's yet another disgusting flame personal attack. But some points. LGBT is not behaviors. It represents people and their identities. Some LGBT people travel for sex and love adventures and some don't just as any other identifiable segment of people. Including nationalities. Also the topic here is specifically LGBT retirees.. People's sex drives tend to lessen with age. LGBT people are people.
  16. Might be best to zip your pie hole about it though in light of this news story.
  17. The other elephant in the room which Big Joke has vaguely hinted at is whether they will crack down on "dodgy" agent activity. Logically if they were actually serious about their goals (making sure people actually are financially qualified) they would have done that decades ago! But they haven't. Go figure. I can't. Trying to find logic in immigration policies here is a masochists delight.
  18. Nah. Again they needed to say men, women, or something else. They understandably went with something else as that fit the situation best.
  19. It's not my role to educate you on basic stuff. So I'll leave it at that.
  20. So you think they should have reported as men. They had to say something in the article. I think most people seeing their picture would think another term should have been used though. So agree to disagree.
