Foreigner Steals Taxi While High on Cannabis, Crashes into Lamp Post
CallumWK replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
More denial https://www.plevinandgallucci.com/marijuana-related-car-accidents/ They found that prior to the legalization of marijuana in the state, about 8.8% of drivers involved in fatal traffic crashes tested positive for THC. Over the 12-24 months following legalization, that percentage more than doubled, to 18%. By 2017, the fifth year after legalization, 21.7% of drivers involved in fatal accidents were THC-positive. https://bcmj.org/cohp/cannabis-and-motor-vehicle-crashes There is clear evidence that cannabis, like alcohol, impairs the psychomotor skills required for safe driving.[2] Cannabis intoxication slows reaction time and impairs automated tasks such as tracking ability (staying within a lane) or monitoring the speedometer. In simulator studies, high doses of cannabis caused drivers to “crash” into a sudden obstacle more often. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/09/06/health/marijuana-traffic-accidents-wellness/index.html Car crashes involving weed were serious. In marijuana-involved accidents, nearly 90% of the victims arrived by ambulance, the study found. When no alcohol or cannabis was involved, the number of people that required an ambulance dropped to 40%. In addition, nearly 50% of marijuana users in a car accident required hospital admission, compared to just over 6% of those who did not use. Al propaganda of course.........according to the potheads- 146 replies

So that explains this You need a 1 year visa to get an account these days, and they may have assumed that because you had a yellow book, you had a 1 year visa as well. All banks I have opened accounts in the past 6 months required, passport with1 year visa/extension - yellow book - pink card - and driver license

Everything depends on how important the branch manager considers himself and if he knows his job. Most of them obviously don't. I have savings accounts in 3 different SCB branches, and tax ID or work permit was never required. I'm on a retirement extension The branch manager in Big C Xtra Pattaya insisted I needed a work permit, even when I told him I had SCB accounts already. He got a bit upset when I took his picture and told him I would inform head office

Sounds as if Prawit's friend is putting his teeth into this. Thaksin should have known better as to attack Prawit publicly. -
I watched the debate, and all I can say is that both lied through their teeth, but you wouldn't expect anything else from politicians, of course. The closing statement, which I think is actually what most people value a debate on, clearly goes to Trump. She has had 3.5 years to enforce everything she claims she will do, why didn't she do anything of that in the past 3.5 years?

Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats

Nobody cares if you have bank accounts outside Thailand. Tax agreements are between governments, not between banks, so Thailand will know what you earn in your home country, and they don't in which bank that money goes -

Neither can BYD -
I hear there are like 70 deaths a day on Thai roads, and can't believe the actual number is a fivefold. Whenever I'm waiting for a red traffic light with a countdown timer, the cars and bikes start crossing the traffic light when the counter is at 2 or even 3. I also see that the left or right side of the crossing will still be going strong when the light has turned red for a few seconds already. Just the other day I was behind a tourist bus, and when the lights turned red, while the bus was still at a safe distance to stop, his brake lights didn't even flash for a second, and he went straight through the red light. If police did their job, and be stationed t traffic light................oh wait they have their cabin at every major crossing............they would make a fortune in traffic fines every day

Let me provide an update on the above post. On Monday at 11am, the money that was sent to me by Wise on Saturday midday, was still not in my Kasikorn account. So I called them up, and they admitted that the money had indeed arrived on Saturday, but they were still verifying. Really? They then finally credited my account. Today same game. Received an email from Wise that money had arrived at 6:30am this morning. No money in my Kasikorn account though, so I'm calling them again for more than an hour now, and they still can't confirm. So the delays are not with Wise, it is Kasikorn bank that holds your money and fails to credit your account. Last call was 15 minutes ago, and I have given them 30 minutes to clear everything, or my Kasikorn accounts will be emptied. Edit: At the 27th minute they credited my account
