  1. UPDATE It was Deltas partner Korean Air that refused her. Delta gave her the money back for the flight back to SC and said they would put her on a plane with her Covid test, but did not have a flight going out that would meet the 72 hr Thaipass limit. She canceled everything.
  2. She had flown into Atlanta from her home in SC on the first leg and had to buy a ticket back home. The Atlanta flight would have been the international leg. I think she should get her money back for her covid test, the flight back and some extra for the mix up.
  3. A friend of mine's wife was refused boarding on a Delta flight out of Alanta. She had a QR with the green "Exemption From Quarantine" on the bottom of the page. She was told that things had changed and she now had to get 6 more quarantine nights to be allowed on the plane. She called the hotel but they couldn't do it because they were all booked up. She missed her flight. Anyone heard of this happening before? My wife has the same QR and is set to leave in a few days.
  4. Just being clear. You got registered, sent in the photos of your hotel booking, insurance etc. and then heard nothing? It took mine 10 days to get code.
  5. Maybe the problem is with the agent. Many require that the passport used to buy the ticket has to be shown. If it's a US passport they must show a return ticket within 30 days or a visa. I (US citizen) have always been asked for the return ticket but when I told them I had a visa, they let me pass without ever looking at it. The same maybe true for dual citizens. Showing a Thai passport may do the same.
  6. I see that what you say is true but my wife and all her friends here (dual citizens) have always left the US with their Thai passports. Right now I can't remember anyone but the ticket agent even asking to see it.
  7. Fly out with your Thai passport, leave Thailand as a Thai, show your US passport at US customs.
  8. He maybe somewhat correct. When I did one for my Thai wife I somehow miss spelled her name at the start. Everything else was fine. She got her Pass in less than 10 minutes with her name spelled wrong so I did it again with the correct spelling and and again 10 minutes. I think some are just pushed through and looked at later. Mine took 10 days
  9. Not sure where to put myself on that scale, but I am sure I lose some points like BritManToo for having pet bunnies instead of a Pit Bull.
  10. I don't know about insurance but the ASQ hotel that I will be staying says they will reimburse if you inform them that you failed the test and can't board. The airline also will let you change to later date if you fail test.
  11. I guess I am a bit confused as to how we can ALWAYS have more recoveries than new cases.
  12. ""C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell" My wife is 20 years younger than me, but the real story is my mother. When I was 27 my mother, 49, remarried a sailor the same age as I. I really wasn't sure which of them was the nuttier. I was sure it wouldn't last. They were still together when my mother died at 74
  13. Yes, It seems that almost all my online accounts require double security now. It does support the 3 digit sms that I know some text services do not support.
  14. Most airports in the states have the saliva PCR test. one hr wait, costly $250 US
  15. I bought a Skype phone number. Its local US and rings on both my phone here in Thailand and my computer. I also use the number to call my bank and friends. cost about $35 a year US
  16. My take If it was a blockage in the line, the upstairs pressure would still reach maximum when there isn't anything running. There would be a sudden stream and then the pressure would drop off when the water was turned on. For the pressure to never reach peak, the restriction would have to be at the very end of the line.
  17. Most say from time it is taken but some labs put the time it was tested only
  18. The last one I saw was about 7 years ago in the sticks north of Korat
  19. I haven't seen anyone riding an elephant pass my house in years.
  20. I can not confirm this as I do not know anyone personally that has done it, but it has been reported that if you bring your Wise receipt showing the exact date and amount of transfer it has been excepted.
  21. You won't need the QR. It will just take a little longer to get the pass as it has to be manually checked.
  22. As you said many airports have 60 minute turnaround testing at a price, Seattle $250. Locally (Southern Oregon) the testing is free (though your insurance if you have it, but still free if you don't. Not sure if it is the state picking up the bill) but will not guarantee 72 hr although they most will get result in less than 24. https://xprescheck.com/
