As usual I didn't think everything out. I have to return to the States for work this May. My flight is on the 4th, my extension ends on the 5th. Up until this last extension, I was able to go in a month ahead and get the extension in two weeks. The last time I had to wait four weeks. There is where I have a problem, getting the extension before my flight. I thought I had read on here that you can go in as much as six weeks before the end of the extension. If this is correct, I don't have a problem. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

We flew in on JAL about a week ago. Test and Go. My wife needed the test, if not for Thailand, for sure to fly JAL If I were you "Just do it!" I just wanted to add, do it early as some of the labs are backed up due to weather and the increased number of people getting tested. It can be nerve racking. We got out test 71 3/4 hr before the flight. We got the notice that the test arrived at the lab 30 hrs later. The small print says you get results 24 to 48 hrs after the test is RECEIVED by the lab. Notified that the sample went in for testing 46 hrs after we took it. Got the results about 18 hrs before the flight. I had checked on the testing at the airport that claimed to get results back in as little as 1 hr at $250 a pop. They claim to be able to do 500 a day----they were already backed up 3 days after my flight date.

UPDATE It was Deltas partner Korean Air that refused her. Delta gave her the money back for the flight back to SC and said they would put her on a plane with her Covid test, but did not have a flight going out that would meet the 72 hr Thaipass limit. She canceled everything.

She had flown into Atlanta from her home in SC on the first leg and had to buy a ticket back home. The Atlanta flight would have been the international leg. I think she should get her money back for her covid test, the flight back and some extra for the mix up.

A friend of mine's wife was refused boarding on a Delta flight out of Alanta. She had a QR with the green "Exemption From Quarantine" on the bottom of the page. She was told that things had changed and she now had to get 6 more quarantine nights to be allowed on the plane. She called the hotel but they couldn't do it because they were all booked up. She missed her flight. Anyone heard of this happening before? My wife has the same QR and is set to leave in a few days.
