  1. Pretty much my story. Met on Thaikisses, Married 2 months after I met her. A hard working woman. Even though I told her she didn't have to work, she works everyday for less than 500 baht a day when here in Thailand. ^ months out of the year we go back to the US where she got a job working in landscaping. 11 years together now. I recommend the book "Thai Fever" to learn about how Thai women think.
  2. Reminds me of a summer I spent in Maine. At the time I think 90% of the people there smoked, but the restaurants had to have a non smoking table. Can you imagine being a non-smoker sitting at the one non-smoking table in a room full of smokers. What was worse is that the non smoking table sign would be moved around as the smoking clients would request the table, until all the tables were full and then the sign would disappear into the kitchen.
  3. I was told not to fly or do any hard work. My guess is that there must be a pressure difference that speeds up the process. How far along are you?
  4. Maybe an explanation of the price difference from above. I only had to have the "bubble" injected into my eye. No cutting.
  5. I had it done in Khon Kaen many years ago, I do not remember his name. He teaches at the U and also worked out of the of "Prat ram 9" hospital across from the Mall. I had about 1/3 sight gone and went the the government hospital in Korat. They would not be able to help me for about 2 weeks but a nurse there told me to contact this Doc. He told me to come right in. met him at the U hospital, but did the operation at Prat Ram 9. About 24000 baht. 3 days. But as I said this was 8 years ago.
  6. Flying JAL they checked before the flight in Bangkok, and on entering the transit area in Japan. Wasn't checked in the US.
  7. One other problem with getting the Antigen test is that it has a fair degree of faults positives, and it you get one of those you have to take the RT-PCR which you will also have to pay for and get results before your flight.
  8. The ladies are at fault. Whether dogs or swimming pools, there has to be protections in place for to prevent accidents or death.

  10. I guess that is in line with testing people with symptoms and without "In people with confirmed COVID-19, antigen tests correctly identified COVID-19 infection in an average of 72% of people with symptoms, compared to 58% of people without symptoms. Tests were most accurate when used in the first week after symptoms first developed (an average of 78% of confirmed cases had positive antigen tests). This is likely to be because people have the most virus in their system in the first days after they are infected." https://www.cochrane.org/CD013705/INFECTN_how-accurate-are-rapid-tests-diagnosing-covid-19
  11. I see what your saying. The assumption being the unaccounted for were faults, or some funny math.
  12. I have never hear of 30% faults positives. Do you have a link for that?
  13. Same here. Many years ago I ended up doing a 180 hitting the brake in a curve down shifting an automatic????
  14. Lets see, Asking Senators for something that does not exist yet. Wait in Thailand as the Covid problem gets worse, then go to a crowed hospital with un tested people, to get the first of your Covid shots, wait again for the second. All the while chancing getting it from everyone you come in contact with. Or go to a clinic, get tested, have someone drive to the airport, be on a plane with other tested people, in the US in 24 hrs, get tested again if she wishes, get a vacs the same day you arrive, be with her family.
  15. As always I bow to Ubonjoe's knowledge on the subject. He does keep up on this stuff.
  16. And what was your answer? Where did the money for the 400,000 come from? If it was moved there from out of country it would have shown in the bank book.
  17. I know they like to see that the money comes from out of country. As long as they see it as an international transfer, I don't think they care from where. You didn't mention what country your home country was but using a transfer company like Wise (Wise.com) is cheap and easy. You will of course have to get a Thai bank account first.
  18. What service is this? I would think that if it was not paid in advance they would have turned it off long ago.
  19. Using Wise usually transferred same day but around 5 months ago they told me it would be 3 days. My guess there was a bank holiday somewhere. I have seen some transfer companies that are cheaper but when looking up ratings and reading some customer complains, I use Wise!
  20. I have an 7 year old mitsu. The book said to use 91, which I did at first. Then I read that it was one of the cars that got better mileage on the E20 so I tried it. I felt that it run and accelerate better. I have used it ever since (6 years). I had been told I should run some 95 (91 no longer available in my area )every so often, but have never done so. Still running great.
