  1. In 1948, Israel actually asked the local Arabs to stay after they had been defeated and offered them citizenship. Most of the the "Palestinians" chose decades of violence and misery instead. :ermm:

    Ever wondered why ?????????

Are you a patriot of your homeland? If so, would you have accepted citizenship from the Germans or the Japanese after world war 2 had the been successful?

  2. My understanding is that these "new" homes are actually apartments in existing Israeli places of abode on the West Bank specifically, Gush Etzion, Ma'ale Adumim, Ariel, and Kiryat Sefer. Although some are against these dwellings, there is a big difference between new location construction of single family dwellings and high density apartment blocks in an existing center of population. The intent is to send a message to the PLA that one can kill Israelis, but they will not go away. It is a political statement of resolve.

And what is your position the Palestinian families being evicted from their houses on thier own land whilst these new Israeli dwellings are being erected. Is that fair?

  3. I can't get hold of the article yet, but according to Debkafile Iran has started to escalate matters by inciting Shia protesters to armed rebellion. The stakes are high, there are no moral absolutes but it's time to decide which regime you want to come out on top, Riyadh or Tehran. Apocalypse beckons. :(

debkafile - a fringe outfit catering to conspiracy theorists.

    There is another cracker. :cheesy:

If one is going to quote an article it would help to wait until one can "get hold " of it.

  4. IMO The only way he should be " taken out" as some members have posted is if his own people do it. IMO there are striking similarities with this thought pattern and to the taking down of Saddam Hussien and his regime in Iraq . It m,ay sound harsh but the fact of the matter is some of these countries unfortunatley need to be ruled with a firm hand. Just removing him from power and leaving them to it could very well leave this country open as another breeding ground for terrorist groups and activities hell bent on destroying the entire centre of gravity in the region. The alternative would be for Western powers to go meddling in Middle Eastern affairs once again which is every bit as much a flawed prospect, As I have said from the start. IMHO we should have left this one for the Arab League and African Union states that were so vocal and instrumental in gaining the UN charter for military operations in and over Libya. Time will only tell if we have learnt from the horrible mistakes we made last decade. :(

  5. I cannot support this move - Libya and Khaddafi's forces haven't threatened or committed acts of war against other countries.

Khaddafi rightly regards this as an aggression against him personally.

He threatens with terrorism, but what else can he do?

I have an uneasy feeling about this, and if the NATO misses the colonel, this could be a reciepe for disaster.

I feel the same way. However if it is used ONLY to protect the portion of population that attempted to overthrow Gaddafi from Genocide then it has merit. However if it is used as a offensive means to topple or assist the rebels in conducting offensive operations against the regime then that would not be good and may indeed escalate and already frightening situation. I hope that all sides show restraint. This could well turn into another foriegn policy failure in the Middle East.

  6. I watched the same statement on TV. US Ambassador to the UN stated that the US is looking at futher military actions against Libya. Not only the no fly zone but possible ground attacks to take out tanks and other land vehicles.

The statement was made on 16 March. No cigar! ;)

Who cares when it was made?

Anyone who objects to posters posting dishonestly. He claimed that Obama was calling for air strikes and it was not true.

This post makes no sencse at all. I am quite mystified by it.

I am sorry. But before a no fly zone is established in Libya, which I may add has just been aprroved and may start within hours, all anti aircraft positions must be neutraliased first. Method of neutrallising such targets is indeed "Airstikes". B)

  7. I watched the same statement on TV. US Ambassador to the UN stated that the US is looking at futher military actions against Libya. Not only the no fly zone but possible ground attacks to take out tanks and other land vehicles.

Who cares when it was made? That is a quick shift in US policy in regards to the situation in Libya. It may have something to do with the fact that the Rebllion is in trouble. When they were going well the world were bust trying to look like they were going in to set up a no fly zone. My guess being that they thought the rebels would overthrow Gaddafi for them. Now that are in under the pump and Gaddafi seems sure to hold onto power they know he cannot be deseated without foriegn intervention. So that is why the is a change in policy. I don't like the man too much myself. I am stating what should seem obvious to everybody. He has the backing of the majority by way that he has defeated a rebelious minority.

  8. I just think that if the African Union and the Arab League want to intervine in the Libyan crisis then get a UN charter and go ahead and do so themselves.

The problem is we still don't f&*#ing get it. The majority of Arabs do NOT want Western powers meddling in the Middle East. Be it Bahrain, Libya, Egypt or anywhere else. And I am talking about the people. Not the puppet regimes that are asking for interention. This is the very core of Al qaeda's and all other terrorists reason for 'Jihad' against the West. IMO We need to stay out of it. Gaddafi is a very unsavoury character indeed but he must still have a mandate in Libya otherwise the rebellion would have been successful by now. WITHOUT external assistance.E,G The people of Libya are speaking. And at the moment the majority seems to be with Gaddafi.

How do you know what the majority of Libyans want?

The Army is what is keeping Gaddafi in power.

the rebellion didn't have the numbers to take him down.Next question.

Let me take you back through this.

    1. Here is your statement...

"And at the moment the majority seems to be with Gaddafi."

    2. Here is my question...

"How do you know what the majority of Libyans want?"

    3. Here is your response to my question...

"the rebellion didn't have the numbers to take him down.Next question."

Do you want to try another response or should I just forget about asking you to support your statements?

He is still in power. Don't try to outwit yourself.

  9. Hmm... Mr BO calls for dialogue here and air strikes in Libya. How many contracts of oil for arms does a despot need in order to be regarded as a "friend" of the US?

    Tiger

Where's the link proving the allegation you just made?

Arms sales to the Middle East are called Foreign Military Sales and are not exchangeable for oil. It's cash on the barrel head. You need to check Google a little more often.

    http://rianovosti.co.../163054291.html

"Washington's ambassador to the UN has said the UN Security Council should consider not just a no-fly zone over Libya but also the aerial bombing of forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi."

Its been there all the time but came out in the clear just now. Mr Gates have explained to us all that a no fly zone must be protected by airstrikes and now we have a new "lady" telling us to bomb the hell out of Libya noflyzone or not. How hard are the Yankees to predict?

    Tiger

Now provide the link dated 15 March, or before, citing Obama calling for air strikes in Libya.

That's the one I would like to see.

Can you change your avatar please? It is starting to get on my nerves. :cheesy:

and again, once cornered with HARD FACTS-turns it into personal attack

Hahaha. I have been out for a good tastey meal and I come back and you are still here knocking away at it. Hahaha You crack me up. If these comments are now personnel attacks the the moderators would have stepped in by now. The way you continually quote my posts is bordering on obsessive compulsive. You crack me up dude. Hahaha :cheesy:

Hope you have a good night now. Take care of yourself. :mfr_closed1:

  12. I am starting to wonder why this board even posts Middle East news anymore. It is inevitable that every time people who are obviously pushing an antisemitic agenda will surface (which they do often try to hide but any grade school kid could see through it), and quite reasonably, others will rebut them. This could be done in ONE thread. Or maybe just post middle east news, and then close for comments. All these threads turn out the same. Would this board allow the same kind of environment to prevail if the agents of hate were directed at a different target than Israel and/or Jews? I don't see this kind of phenom happening here regarding any other nation or group.

I PM the moderators last night with a similar comment. All these threads end up with the same result And for your information. It is not just "antisemitism". The fact that you view it that way goes to show how one eyed one can be. It takes two to tango.

  13. Personally I show nothing but good wishes towards those that seek freedom and want to live thier own way of life without Western interference....

That is who I am and what I am about. Therefore I wish nothing other than goodness for these people. I don't post any hatred comments towards any individuals, religion, race or country. I love all human beings that treat other humans as equals.

Well that took all of two minutes:

The law has some merit. I for one am sickened by what I see here in Thailand all too often. Some old dude cruzing around with his young 20 something bride and the little baby in tow.

What a beacon of tolerance and acceptance you are.

Can you show me hatred there. Please.

  14. You openly show your hatred.

Those who share your point of view fill the forum with fact-less nuggets of hate every single day including links to racist websites and justifications for the Holocaust of WW2. Where has scorn been for these loathsome posts?

Not me. Those who share my point of view are free people and can express thier feeling however they wish. It has nothing to do with me. Personally I show nothing but good wishes towards those that seek freedom and want to live thier own way of life without Western interference. If that means " building castles in the sand" then so be it. That is who I am and what I am about. Therefore I wish nothing other than goodness for these people. I don't post any hatred comments towards any individuals, religion, race or country. I love all human beings that treat other humans as equals. If you believe that I have posted hateful comments in this forum then please provide me with correct quotations as evidence to support your claims. If not. Then thanks for your concern.

p.s: Have a nice dinner my friend.

    LMAO,

    Let me start it off

    -this thread post 24

    -this thread post 59 http://www.thaivisa....28#entry4287128

-Same as above thread post 89

    Should i go on?

Your good wishes are duly noted.blink.gif

thread 24 I doubt he is quaking in his boots. He handled the last attempted revolt 2 years ago quite effectively.

2] Is there anyway we can leave the poor old, hard done by Jews out of this thread? where is the hatred statement

thread 59 Kuffi. In reply to your last post:

What was before that you ask??? War, war, war and repeated incursion by Israel.Rape, killing, stealing houses and land. Lets be realistic here. It is in Israels best interest to starve of the Palestinians. A strong Palestine would have Israel shitting in thier pants. As for Egypt. That is way :offtopic: .

You can only kick a dog so many times before it bites. As I have stated before in other threads that it would be in Israels best interest to come to the party and start following popular world opinion before the Arab world, after the ongoing revolution is over, joins together and pushes Israel into the sea. If you think I am being a little over the top then that is ok. But deep down you know that this scenerio is a valid one. Soon Palestine will indeed be free with the support of the entire world sha allah[god willing] and it will be israel that finds itself without a seat when the music stops.

Once again no hatred there. It is a simply a very possible scenerio and point of view.

same thread 89: I like this. Then it is :partytime2:

Once again no hatered there. You have failed to show me ant rhetorical hatred toward an individual, race, religion or country

SO in closing You are indeed have fail.

  15. You openly show your hatred.

Those who share your point of view fill the forum with fact-less nuggets of hate every single day including links to racist websites and justifications for the Holocaust of WW2. Where has scorn been for these loathsome posts?

i would not hold my breath for a decent or even reasonable answer.

PS. Funny enough the one complaining is the one who makes the most hatred posts.

:D Same goes for you. Provide evidence or quotes where I have shown and open hatred toward any individual, race, religion or country. If you cannot. Then sorry. Buy your argument is an epic failure.
