  2. That is a good idea, saves the expense and Hazzel of waiting on the phone for 45 + mins to UK So say they send every 2 years, in 10 years have only received 1 letter, the day it arrived re stamp mark was 14 months after posting in UK !!! Look on the Royal Mail website normal surface mail to Thailand = allow 12 weeks.. Every time my pension stops must phone them + every time ask them to always send via email. but they never do. It is that time again, so have a copy on PC so will print it out and send to them - hope no stoppage theis time

  8. Pee 2 or 3 times in the night... It is fine I only start to worry if I don't pee, at least I know my Kidneys are working 10 years ago could only Pee a bit maybe 2 x in 24 hrs = Hospital = was Stage 5 CKD !! = do not want to go on Dialysis or the expense - change of diet = stage 2 past few years So happy to pee a lot
  9. Have a mole on my chin, got fed up of always nicking it every day as a youngster So at 24 grew a Goatee, and still have it at 74, do find shaving the rest is a pain in older age but the stubble is not noticeable so shave the rest maybe 1 x a week
  10. Not always, always used the same Dentist for around 18 years. then changed to the local Government Hospital Dentist a year ago as my upper back tooth split, my normal Dentist was a 3 day wait. The Government Hospital dentist I thought was just a boy, looked about 16, well he was so gentle....last week was the same guy still looks young again very gentle
  11. The HMRC employer enquiries page has a message: 'Due to industrial action between 23 December 2024 and 14 February 2025, you may wait longer Also a waning some may go on 8 week Strike Maybe a reason for even slower response ?
  12. Tooth broke off, finally had the root removed last week Village type Government Hospital cost 280 baht + standard Dr fees of 40 baht so total 320 baht.
  13. the large Gecko “jing-jok” make a lot of Beeping noise, often wakes me up.. there much bigger than the house Gecko and have orange dots all over Alway thought it was some sort of Bird.
  14. Are you sure it is a bird ? Maybe look up Frog sounds in Thailand, The very loud noise I heard in in garden often but could not find the Bird turned out to be a Frog, another time had something that sounded like a ships fog horn, also turned out to be a Frog
  15. Little problem with that...... depends on the size of the driver, a 50kg drivers seat will still look good at 160 k where as a 160kg driver the seat is badly worm at 80 k
  16. Love the statement "you should not use the information obtained from this measurement for self-diagnosis or self-prescription." So what is the point of using ? I use Accu-Chek meter and have done for many years, I NEED to know each morning my reading so I can have the amount of Insulin I need... this morning 114 so normal amount of insulin, last week had 2 different days were I was low 56 and 69 = adjusted my Insulin to NON if 90 or below take less Insulin so 100% do use my meter for self-diagnosis or self-prescription Accu-Chek test strips I buy for the same place 'The Good Dr Pharmacy' around 800 baht for 100 strips with postage, takes around 5 days to arrive [clear customs + delivery] use the same place for around 5 years. Cheapest I could find in BKK was on Rama 4 cost 1.250 baht, as for local Pharmacies very few stock them + normally is 25 strips for about 450 baht !! Would love the CGM but the cost it very high - the sensor must be changed every 14 days - I did speak to a Rep at Abbotts the ongoing cost is around 1,000 baht per month Yes fed up with 30 odd years of finger pricks As for the Hb1ac test, yes is done every 3 months = show I am good for years now 6.1 - 6.3... but will not show the odd days I dropped far to low and need to have less insulin.... had I relied only on the Hb1ac test I would have gone into a Diabetic Coma long ago
  17. Where I live it is flat But the earth must be round Look at flights BKK to London Heathrow 12.47 must be going up hill ? Flight time London Heathrow to BKK 11,25 so quicker as going down hill ?
  18. How long will you live is a good question As I get older 74 now, appear to be getting slower, can fall asleep anytime day or night more of a effort to do what used to be simple things, but still wake up every morning so will see My Mother, her brother and sister all died in their early 40's 3 cousins died in their 50's, my Father + grandfather made it to 80. Thai Friend in the Village. he and his wife early 60's his Father 95 + his wife 94 both diabetic but very well, there are 5 others live with their Son/Daughter in the Village in there 80's
  19. Yes very true This morning was 104 = took 4 units less insulin B4 breakfast
  20. for me depends on the time of year Summertime maybe go all night without a pee, it is now winter = 2 or 3 times a night + day time winter around every 2 hours, Summertime around 2 or 3 times a day Drink around the same everyday for years - 3 black coffees then plain water 3 + liters per day As a PS - Never use Air Con
  21. A big NO NO for many Diabetics as salt is very bad for Kidneys as many have CKD
  22. Yes anything above 71 is high - anything below 55 is Low Most fruits are in the LOW bracket + full of Fiber and Vitamins and are fine in moderation for Type 1 and 2 Diabetics Cherries Strawberries and Cranberries are are way down GI 20 - 24 Grapes are a low-glycemic option they're packed with fiber. They have a GI of 53 and are an excellent source of vitamin B-6, Mangoes score 51–56 on the glycemic index (GI) chart Another prime example is Honey has a GI of 55, whereas White sugar is GI 91 Think maybe how old people are and how they were taught to manage their Diabetes
  23. Many years ago was told Fruit is good sugars by a Diabetic Dr The natural sugars in fruit differ from the added sugar on/in food
  24. Google is your friend Grapes, especially darkly colored fruits, have an abundance of antioxidant molecules that have the ability to regulate insulin and glucose metabolism and oxidative stress induced in this disease. Strawberries are almost in season
  25. Yes done every 3 months - for passed 10 years between 6 - 6.3 so is good and well managed SO SAY But that does not help when you suddenly drop for ?no reason? you suddenly feel light headed and start to sweat and shake finger prick shows you have dropped to below 60 If you did not do anything there and then could well go into a Diabetic Coma !! Test 99 = take less Insulin, then suddenly wake up at 3 am light headed with sweat and shakes = finger prick 53 !! that was on 14th Nov - twice since then have suddenly dropped around 3 am to 60 or under. Likewise for no reason ? this morning was 160 Why ?
