RAMAGEDDON: RAM prices are killing us. How are you bearing up?
Get used to it, Micron announced it's pulling out of the consumer markets to concentrate on ECC RAM That's one inconvenience, now wait until you need a new hard drive....and if you want a 24 or 30 TB HD, good luck with that - they're buying all of it. At some point when huge manufacturers like Micron pull out of one market so they can repurpose their manufacturing capacity to the higher end which they sell directly to these data center fillers there will be nothing left in normal distribution channels / the rest of us, even on the business side of things where you order from national distributors (in Europe) we are seeing multi month lead times on some high end components - that's Feb 2026 for big Hard Drives! Just yesterday I read an article about Samsung on Slashdot, check it out : Full Source : https://hardware.slashdot.org/story/25/12/04/1739230/ram-is-so-expensive-samsung-wont-even-sell-it-to-samsung

Yeah, they always say that. Does the AOT keep all the money? I'm going to be very surprised if they do.

Thai Authorities Raid Bitcoin Mines Tied to Scam Networks
I'm not seeing an actual crime here - often it involves not paying electric bills but they don't state that here. Did they just shut down a legit operation because someone 'suspects' the owner may be linked to someone who did something wrong?

Airport Tax for International Departures Raised to 1,120 Baht
You're right - this is exactly what they do in the UK, book a business or first class long haul flight out of the UK and they charge about 200 per flight in what they call 'APD' Airline Passenger Duty, about half that for economy on long haul - it is based on the number of miles which doesn't make much sense as it's a charge to leave - why should they charge more for a 12 hour flight than a 3 hour flight - and the answer is simple - because they can charge whatever they want and know these tickets cost more so they load the prices even more! All this nonsense about tourist fees of just a few hundred baht could be somehow included into this charge I'm sure - that would be the easiest and perhaps only way to do it - but it would include all passengers.

O-A Visa insurance for elderly - 75-80 years old
Interesting, will look at it - could make it viable.

O-A Visa insurance for elderly - 75-80 years old
In this case, any kind of examination of current health and / or pre existing conditions with proof from home Doctors would result in no health insurance from any sane insurance company anywhere in the world. This visa isn't appropriate, I agree fully.

Thailand trip in Isaarn and Cambodia’s Shiny New Airports!
Oh, they're very busy alright - experienced it first hand - they're looking for Thai nationals and single them out for special negative treatment. Been there - seen it in the new airport. Having none of that crap so I simply packed all my stuff, booked another flight and left - never to return. Meh. If I want to move elsewhere for a while again during another tax year where I liquidate a large holding I'll just go to Vietnam - no big deal.

O-A Visa insurance for elderly - 75-80 years old
What's the procedure for someone older than 75 but not quite 80 yet? Specifically regarding the insurance - based on things I've read on the past for someone taking out a new policy over the age of 75 there may be all sorts of roadblocks and it could either be declined or incredibly expensive due to pre-existing and in fact current health issues. So what's the procedure to get the insurance required for the O-A visa here when someone is like 78 or 79 years old ? Do they want to do a medical? Do they want to see medical records? Do they want a Doctors statement from the home country (Western nation) on the health of the person to be insured? We are talking about people with various pre-existing conditions who simply want to visit a few times a year for a few months at a time - but due to the recent changes limiting visa free entries they have got caught up in the trap as I'm sure many have.

Correct, the medical establishment don't like to even acknowledge that people like him exist - it's dangerous apparently

Tattoo Ink May Harm Immune Cells and Weaken Vaccines
Oh really, so my father, 81, doing ok for his age, covered in some of the largest tattoos I've ever seen - full back and chest, legs and arms too going back decades to the 60's and 70's and into the 2000s No problem, rarely a cold over decades - sure, his immune system must be f****d, lol Then there's the 50 a day for 50 years smoking habit he had but that's another topic - which strangely also had zero effect on him to this day and yes, he's alive right now and breathing just fine. Hilarious 🙄

Paul Doyle Admits Guilt in Liverpool Parade Attack Horror
Now I definitely read something about this road being closed with those bollards blocking the street off during the parade, but for reasons unknown someone in control of them opened the road up so a vehicle could gain entry and then negligently did not return the road to closed status by raising the 'diversity bollards' which are centrally controlled and electronically operated. It then went on to say this dude was driving around and turned into the road where his car was viciously attacked - and he escaped by putting his foot down - is that account ow what happened wrong ?

The public are treated with complete and utter disdain and contempt by their lords and masters in the civil service. They're in charge and won't miss a chance to let anyone else know it.

Would it be possible to enter Thailand on VE 3 times a year?
Are they counting days again or just seeing 2 previous visits and sending people back? I've heard different variations suggesting they may be counting days or not. I've seen all sorts of things on youtube - but most of them do appear to be long stayers. It would be very short sighted if someone visits Bangkok for a long weekend like 3 or 4 nights say 4 or 5 times a year and they reject them based on too many entries - but who knows, I bet some get denied entry.
