  1. 21 years old hey, how old is he now? The aritcle says 40 but he looks a lot older than that, lol Fancy dress in bad taste 20 years ago ????
  2. I had to do this recently, not for a bank but for much more paranoid Bitcoin exchanges around the world, I completed full 'KYC verification' at about 4 of the largest exchanges in the world and one US based custodian over the course of a couple of days. How? They ask for a proof of address, so I was thinking of certificate of residence and then get it translated followed by potentially notarised for some of them - that's a whole different can of worms here in Thailand, then I thought of something. I went to Kasikorn and updated my address, I moved about 4 or 5 years ago and didn't get around to changing it lol, I asked them to use my new address in English and then print out an English language statement - they did it and that's enough to prove your address, a bank statement from a big Thai bank with an address in English. Also if you already bank with Lloyds I believe you can simply transfer your account to one of the offshore locations, the same type of option may be available with other banks.
  3. He's lucky he had a preference for the tacky Rolex watches instead of a 'truly exclusive' watch by someone like Jacob & Co
  4. I reckon the arrival of the Chinese will make no noticeable difference at all.
  5. Ok, well that's new, I last renewed mine in late 2019 a few weeks before the first reports of people getting ill in Wuhan started to emerge on the international news. I know there's something weird that's been going on with these visas during the pandemic, I would be surprised if they apply this to an old visa from long ago - a legitimate one (if there is such a thing) but who knows. How long ago was your volunteer visa issued and is it in your current passport? I would definitely call them up and check they're not referring only to the scam visas that were being utilised by many people in the last few years during the pandemic, unless of course you had one of them in which case you might be a part of their target.
  6. When you apply for a Thailand Elite visa they run any checks first and authorise the membership, you pay after approval. I believe they're merely covering themselves when they say immigration might deny issuing a visa due to the personal discretion thing - if that ever happened then they would have a choice to make, it would either be the end of Thailand Elite or they give the money back. Applying for approval for the visa costs nothing, once you get approval they ask you to pay. If you're going to be rejected for something trivial it will be before the payment stage.
  7. Normally the insurance company would take care of that.
  8. So let me get this right, the 'ISOC' are fighting international crime by checking 90 day reports and other rules which can only really mean overstayers / extensions? Isn't this the equivalent of deploying MI5 or the FBI to fight people who don't pay their parking tickets on time?
  9. Lol, they feared a full blown revolution, like the French one which didn't end well for those running the show at the time.
  10. Well there we are, total chaos at airports around the world, passengers who had never heard of this rule being denied boarding at multiple airports and they have now rescinded the regulation. That didn't take long, did it?
  11. Can you now. I think you will find that you end up on an Emirates code share plane for the second leg - because BA don't fly to Thailand any more ????
  12. Oh, they're definitely not. BA no longer fly to Thailand at the moment, perhaps others will follow.
  13. They have covid in China, we have it here, it's in Europe and you can't stop it from spreading so they don't technically need to do anything. Someone demanded this. I wonder why they changed anything at all, after some period of time it will all return to normal like nothing happened - only in this case they've 'annoyed' every single country in the world except china.
  14. There's no way anyone could have seen all this chaos coming, every last bit of it and more which will emerge over the next few days ???? Even a 'moron' should have been able to see this coming from a mile away ????
  15. Lol, that didn't take long, I guess at some point earlier today they realised that most of the passengers would not be able to board - this took a lot less time to happen than I thought it would.
  16. I believe this is referring to the shelf life of the vaccine while it's in stock in the hospital and before it's used on patients so it's nothing to do with regulations or how long they protect you for. Based on what I've read elsewhere, if you were vaccinated at least twice then you should be good, even if your last shot was back in 2021 - but you need to prove it with some kind of documentation that apparently you will have access to in your home country.
  17. I'm sure that will work out just fine for everyone ???? I'll reserve judgment on this until early next week. Topic unfollowed.
  18. There were no restrictions until like today or tomorrow, people who booked flights in December would have been told there are no restrictions at all - because there weren't any at the time. By Monday new restrictions will be in force and almost nobody will know about them. Just watch what happens - it's only a few days away.
  19. You're missing the point - people aren't going to know about this requirement until they are turned away from the check in desk - just watch what happens on Monday. Maybe I'm wrong but I expect chaos.
  20. Tell me how you can get it at the check in desk in all the different countries around the world where the flights originate from. I know my parents don't have a login for the NHS, what they have is a little piece of cardboard which has a stamp on it from their first two vaccine shots - nothing more than that. Not even anything extra for the boosters.
  21. There's also going to be people who don't have any documentation whatsoever yet are 'fully vaccinated' and boosted multiple times like my parents. They have no special document to prove this vaccination and if they were flying to Bangkok next week they still wouldn't have any special document to prove it because until a few hours ago it wasn't needed - what exactly do the airline want to see? Will the airlines be spending the weekend phoning everyone booked on each flight and telling them to get some kind of certificate from the NHS?
  22. Some people are incapable of seeing the bigger picture, they look at that bottle of ketchup and think, sod that - I'm off back to the US / Europe where it's slightly cheaper ????
