  4. Yeah, I know, right? I mean, someone that has all the time to scroll through the numerous posts on this forum and then takes the time to respond to those crazy posts must be a real nutcase, right? TiT
  5. Well researching I find the average cost for a sticker and sleeve combined is about $0.01 to $0.015 (USD). So my wild a$$ guess was way off. But then one would have to ask, are they put on manually or with automated equipment? If manually, how many pieces can the average employee do and what is the average wage? If done with automated equipment then how much was that capital expense as well as the required space and repairs/maintenance? Whatever the added costs, is it necessary?
  6. Really? Then why is it all the eggs I buy are not broken? Hmmmmm....... And just so you know I find bruises on apples that have the sleeves on them.
  7. I found this to be interesting. Do note that the sticker in the apple picture I posted had no meaningful information. I merely marked out the company's name.
  8. Getting an apple to eat today I was wondering, how much money do you think could be saved by eliminating the sticker and protective wrap on nearly every piece of fruit these days? I would guess the savings could be passed down to the consumer (but probably kept by the greedy companies) and it would be 5-15%. What's your thoughts? .......and to add, I wonder how environmentally safe those stickers and little protective sweaters are?
  9. Get a tattoo? Get a face tattoo they say....... with one of them it's much easier to see the moron in a crowd.
  10. Yepper, great Northern food (my opinion). And some great views in the hills along roads that are mostly in great condition. It's not a big town but it has many different amenities. Cooler temps and from my experience very friendly folks. Local Immigration that is very well organized and generally not so busy. (Again, from my experience.)
  11. Can this possibly be true? I just read on MSN where Thailand has the 24th topped ranked military in the world. It was stated that the reason for such a high ranking is that there's 36 million people in the Thai military. That was hard for me to believe so I Googled the population for Thailand and Google shows 70 million people. I hardly doubt that half of Thailand's population is currently in the military. Or is Google's reported population incorrect?
  12. Melbourne is nice as I traveled a lot to Satellite Beach for work. However most of my time was at the relatives in Ft Lauderdale. I could never live in Florida. The only things I enjoyed going there for many times were Disney, cruises to the Bahamas, and of course all the boobies one could see on any given day at South Beach. Living in Isaan (Surin area) sucks n my opinion. Boring and not much to do. Hard to find any western items (for home cooking) unless you order online and have it delivered. I lived in Chiang Mai for many years and enjoyed it there but didn't like the traffic or tourist areas. I considered it as miniature Bangkok. The food that can be found there is excellent in my opinion and I do miss the friends I made there, both Thai and foreigner. My favorite place and where plan to move to in the near future is Nan.
  13. I asked Bard if the US would be raising the debt ceiling before the deadline. NOTE: I know the deadline was June 1st but then moved to June 5th. .....but Bard's reply said July 31st. Can anyone tell me why Bard may be stating this date as I haven't heard/read anything. Bard's reply (some of it): "It is currently uncertain whether the US will raise the debt ceiling in time to avoid the deadline. The deadline is currently set for July 31, 2023. If the debt ceiling is not raised by then, the US will default on its debt, which would have a significant impact on the economy."
  14. I never did a count but if you ever stop at a service station and get out to walk to the restroom or convenience store look around for yourself. Maybe if you use a big parking lot like at a Makro, Big C, or mall as well as other store areas then perhaps look for yourself. Maybe walking around tourist areas have a look at some of the scooters and tuk-tuks to see for yourself. If you do look and take notice you might be surprised. I would guess the percentage ranks up there with the same amount of scooters you see at night time with a burnt out taillight.
  15. Are they going to ensure someone who rents a scooter has a proper license, skill to drive one, and insurance?
  16. I was on a flight once where someone had brought some aboard.
  17. No, it wouldn't be a choice for me because what you described isn't even close to my background.
  18. I hear you there, the same with me. Back in the day and area where everyone had either a rifle or a shotgun in the truck. And it wasn't for shooting people or protection. I never did make a gun but I know how easily it can be done. We used to load our own shells and casings so we had plenty of munitions around all the time. All I can say is, fishing was easy in those quarries. FWIW, the point I was trying to make is the article had to point out that the 'homemade' gun wasn't registered. How often do you think a homemade gun would be registered? Did you ever register yours?
  19. You can be pickpocketed by someone who isn't a ladyboy. Professional pick pocketers are masters with their skill. I was pickpocketed 20 years ago and I would gladly pay $100 USD to know how it was done.
  20. ....and be sure to remove all butane lighters from your laundry before cleaning.
  21. ".....a homemade shotgun......." "......an unregistered short-barrelled shotgun....." You think he had registered it? Hmmmmmm.... Alcohol fueled. I guess it can't be blamed on cannabis. 'Damn it woman, make me a sandwich now unless you want me to blow your brains out!' I'm betting that works almost every time.
