  1. Tell me then, Why doesn't PandaFood allow a foreigner to pay upfront using TrueWallet but will allow a Thai? ....and as far as TrueWallet, they offer things that are not available to a foreigner.
  2. Sorry, the US doesn't have any nasty 'beans on toast' but we have 'SOS'...... which is much better.
  3. Professional training cannot keep your unprotective head from hitting the pavement when a car pulls out in front of you. Or when a stray dog darts across the road in front of you. Or when your front wheel sides out from underneath of you when you go around a curve and there is unexpected loose sand on a normally clean and nicely paved highway. The only thing that is naïve is thinking that training will save your skull from hitting the pavement and there is no need to wear a helmet if you have had training.
  4. You can be trained as being a professional rider but another person's stupidity can put you in an early grave. Training has nothing to do with the need to wear a helmet for safety. Does training allow me to not needing to wear a seatbelt in a car?
  5. I wish you the best of luck. I cannot imagine having to go back to my home country with nothing to rely on. For me, the worst case scenario, if it came right down to it, I would move into the wilderness (USA), perhaps squat on some isolated government land and live off the land as much as possible. May I ask, how much was the heart operation as I had a stent placed last year and while it was not in my budget it didn't break me. Also was the operation done in a private or government hospital?
  6. Yeah, a real cheap fake one so the police won't give him a ticket for not having a helmet. Maybe something like this:
  7. Why would anyone want to just satisfy the police and wear a cheap plastic helmet? For me, a helmet is a safety device. I would wear one whether it was a law or not. I wear a real quality full faced helmet all the time. I feel my life is too valuable not to wear a good helmet. .......and yet when there's a fatal motorcycle/scooter crash reported on this forum everyone comes screaming, 'He should have worn a helmet'.
  8. Here you go, a little something to read for all you Volvo overs: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/america-s-worst-car-brands/ar-AA1d0ERw?ocid=mailsignout&pc=U591&cvid=86b5b8d39e174826876be712603b95fc&ei=127
  9. Why have a paper bill come to the house for local services? Hopefully some day PEA will step up to the modern times and submit monthly billings online.
  10. You could be right. However, everything I sent for many years from the USA to Germany and New Zealand always arrived....... and in a timely fashion. I don't recall any missing mail or mail delivered extremely late to those two destinations. Hmmmmmm........
  11. Is Hangdong in Chiang Mai "out-of-the-way sticks"? ......and it wasn't a 'generalization', it was fact based on personal experience.
  12. The decision is YOUR choice, not the bank's. If a bank would not abide by where/how I want the card delivered then I would be choosing a different bank.
  13. I just posted more details regarding my original post, I was referring to international delivery of a credit card. For a local credit card (or debit card) then I understand but even so I would personally pick up the card at the bank and get it myself. NOTE: I have just 1 Credit/Debit card from my home country bank and 1 debit card from BKK Bank. My card from the USA was just recently re-issued. I had my bank send it to my brother's house in the USA and then he forwarded it to me using DHL. My BBK Bank debt card was handed to me personally at the bank........easy peasy......safe and secure!
  14. To be more specific I was talking about credit cards (or debit cards) issued outside of Thailand (like from your home country). International mail deliveries to Thailand has a 'hit or miss' result. I would never trust standard delivery service for something so important. I have personally sent items in the mail from the USA to Thailand that never arrived at the addressed location. And just last week I received mail from the USA SSA (Social Security Administration) that arrived a little over a month later than the date recorded on the letter. I would never chance it but, 'to each their own'. Hmmmmmm... 5 credit cards... wow! (So far this year!!!!)
  15. Who in their right mind would have a credit card delivered by regular post...... It's DHL or FedEx..... The only way!
  16. Don't worry, help is here: https://www.google.com/search?q=diagnostically+meaning&sxsrf=APwXEdeAxRaNw2-2oVW37EFtRAnT8fhy7Q%3A1687664549702&source=hp&ei=pbeXZLHeKMPWseMP3cungA8&iflsig=AOEireoAAAAAZJfFtWiL1tOepxRDEgM3l9CLGxwep0MI&oq=diagnostically&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAEYATIFCAAQgAQyBQgAEIAEMgUIABCABDIFCAAQgAQyBQgAEIAEMgUIABCABDIFCAAQgAQyBQgAEIAEMgUIABCABDIICAAQigUQhgM6BwgjEIoFECc6BAgjECc6CAguEIoFEJECOgsIABCABBCxAxCDAToICC4QigUQsQM6CAgAEIoFEJECOgsIABCKBRCxAxCDAToUCC4QigUQxwEQrwEQmAUQmgUQkQI6CwguEIAEELEDEIMBOggIABCABBCxAzoOCC4QigUQxwEQrwEQkQI6EQguEIAEELEDEIMBEMcBENEDOgcIABCABBAKUABYmVRg3nJoAHAAeACAAfUCiAHID5IBCDAuMTMuMC4xmAEAoAEB&sclient=gws-wiz https://www.google.com/search?q=undressed+meaning&sxsrf=APwXEdeMSy5ZluHiMCDI2G8GVZqJNTyEzQ%3A1687664577761&source=hp&ei=wbeXZOrVK4yZseMP3qqa2AE&iflsig=AOEireoAAAAAZJfF0ZK4_8bMUfQmfHVb2udtKhEgAm_E&oq=undressed+m&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAEYADIPCAAQgAQQFBCHAhBGEPkBMgUILhCABDIKCAAQgAQQFBCHAjIFCAAQgAQyBQgAEIAEMgUIABCABDIFCAAQgAQyBQgAEIAEMgUIABCABDIFCAAQgAQ6BwgjEOoCECc6DQguEMcBENEDEOoCECc6BwgjEIoFECc6BAgjECc6CAguEIoFEJECOhQILhCKBRDHARCvARCYBRCZBRCRAjoLCAAQgAQQsQMQgwE6CwguEIAEELEDEIMBOgsIABCKBRCxAxCDAToICAAQigUQkQI6DgguEIoFEMcBEK8BEJECOg0IABCKBRCxAxCDARBDOgcIABCKBRBDOhEILhCKBRCxAxCDARDHARCvAToICC4QgAQQsQM6EQguEIAEELEDEIMBEMcBENEDOgwIABCKBRBDEEYQ-QFQ4AhYtR1gqS5oAXAAeAGAAegDiAGgEJIBCTAuOC4yLjAuMZgBAKABAbABCg&sclient=gws-wiz
  17. Maybe the intern should not have been eating fecal matter and posting on Asean Now to find out who was going to fix his balcony railing?
  18. They are great in soups when you don't have any mot daeng available.
  19. I have never purchased a vehicle in Thailand before as all our previous vehicles were purchased in my Thai wife's name. However I am now wanting to buy a vehicle in my name so I would like to ask, what are the requirements and things I must do to make that happen? I have read somewhere that I must obtain a Certificate of Residency from Thai Immigration, is that true? I ask this because when I did my 90 reporting the other day I made a request about getting the CoR to the IO stating that I was wanting to buy a vehicle. The IO said that I first must go to the Thai division of Transportation and obtain some sort of letter from them and then take that letter to Immigration to get the CoR. I guess I am confused as I never heard about this or perhaps the IO misunderstood what I was wanting to do. What is this letter all about and what does it state? Can someone who has bought a vehicle before please reply with the exact things I need to do in order to buy a vehicle? Thanks in advance. NOTE: Financing is not needed.
  20. I don't want to go back to the USA and create a residence there just in order to get a divorce. I have spoken to a couple different divorce attorneys both here in Thailand and the USA. The easiest and quickest way to get a divorce (uncontested) is to get one here in Thailand but in order to do that the marriage needs to be registered here. I never said anything about needing to register the marriage here in order to get a divorce in the USA, you were making assumptions.
