I would be but Thailand is not somewhere to be when one is old and likely to need a lot of very expensive hospital care, but without insurance or a load of cash available. Nightlife in Hua Hin? Thou jest assuredly. I enjoyed the nightlife when I was in Pattaya or Bkk, but I didn't need it. I can prove that as I lived in Chiang Mai for my last year in LOS, and the nightlife is probably worse than Hua Hin. Actually the nightlife in C M is an insult to nightlife.

I was talking about the UK not the US. There is zero need to stay in hospital following a cataract operation. It doesn't involve a lot of pain, so zero need for morphine. I even had ops with a General Anaeasthetic and went home the same day.

Have they put public transport in Langkawi then? It's not very friendly making tourists use taxis. and the cable car on Penang is a great example of double pricing that makes it prohibitively expensive for non Malaysians- that's definitely not friendly.

When I went the big condos south of the town all encroached below high tide level, so either you didn't walk along at high tide or the sand has accumulated in front of the encroaching embankments. I never went to beaches to swim. I went for the ambience. So, the water clarity was of no importance for me.

LOL. I did all that, even lived with her for a year before getting married. Family OK ( then ), no red flags. Didn't make any difference to the end.
