  1. All you prove is that both the Russians and the Allies depended on each other for success. Without either likely failure. BTW, Russia defeated Germany in Russia before D Day. The Battle of Kursk July 5–August 23, 1943, was the beginning of the end for Germany in the Soviet Union. So duh to you too.
  2. A guaranteed failure IMO. Success was by no means guaranteed by the Allies, and had the Germans had more reinforcements available likely the Allies would never have left the beaches. Without resupply, the paratroops would have had to surrender. Only need to look at the bridge too far to know that an army fights on it's resupply.
  3. Did you miss the part of my post that referenced how the Russians diverted so much of the German army that success on D Day was even possible? Did you also miss that during WW2 Russia was an ally of the Allies.
  4. I thought he was being sarcastic or trying to use satire. There is no confidentiality issue with what is found on a computer.
  5. Oh, I'm certain that our illustrious ( sarcasm alert ) leaders will try to make us pay for it, but that may see them gone at the next election. IMO they will talk a lot and do very little, just as they are doing now. If they were actually serious, they would ban all recreational air travel and all private cars in cities, but IMO they ain't serious at all. IMO they know that whatever they do, it ain't going to change anything. We are doomed.
  6. That had occurred to me, but I was trying to be brief in my post. I suspect a repeat of the "Leopards will win the war" saga- substitute F 16 for Leopard.
  7. Hardly progressive. NZ was blessed with a lot of potential for hydro and a very small population. Pretty much run out of rivers to dam and they've been letting in so many people that we might run out of capacity. Auckland depends on a coal burning power station.
  8. I have yet to hear of any solutions from them that is affordable, acceptable and works.
  9. The last time I filled up it was with petrol. Does that mean my smoke belching diesel truck will seize up?
  10. and the Russians will just blow up more of Ukraine in response.
  11. Wow, a whole 10 of them. One suspects they will be rather busy then. I wonder how many mechs there are in western airforces to maintain dozens of aircraft, but IMO it would be rather more than 10. Of course it could be that it will be so long before any of them are in Ukrainian skies that the war will be over, so it won't matter.
  12. Perhaps they gave up on being oppressed and decided to do something that the israelis would react to just as they have, so that the rest of the world could no longer ignore israeli oppression and collective punishment. Perhaps they decided that losing thousands of Palestinians was a price worth paying to gain their freedom. I suspect most have been "guests" of the israelis at some time, which would turn any man into a hate filled monster that has little regard for human life, so long as he can kill israelis. It could have been over in the first few days, hand back the hostages and hand over the killers... You joker you. IMO all that would happen then is that israel would continue the blockade and oppression, and that every Hamas would be hunted down and killed, along with any "collateral damage".
  13. I suspect netanyahu is reluctant to take on Hezbollah, given they will not be sitting ducks that he can bomb with impunity. It's going to be embarrassing when the boys from the "best army in the world" start coming back in a bag. IMO it'll be a few bomb runs and artillery fire as already happening.
  14. Not only would the Palestinians be crazy to accept that, but IMO it was written in a way they knew that Hamas would be unlikely to agree to. So much more time is needed for the total destruction of Gaza.
  15. I gave that a laugh emoji and I'll give you another here. Congratulations on posting the biggest loads of codswallop I've read on here in a long while, so h.e.r.e. you are
  16. I'd have more respect for him if he hadn't grovelled. He should have told them where to go.
  17. Funny old world we live in. The Russians that did so much to divert a large part of the German army from Europe, didn't get an invite. Of course Biden took the opportunity to bring modern politics into a commemoration of what happened over 70 years ago.
  18. Back in the day it wasn't an Arab hangout and the saying was "the Grace is the place" ( to pick up a girl ). Never stayed there myself- had a look in the door once. More than enough.
  19. My first GF worked on Cowboy, so I stayed at Carlton Hotel almost next door to Cowboy, I think it's gone now. When I found a new GF in Nana I moved to Dynasty Inn, 1 minute walk to Nana. Lovely back then. Could leave a big bag in the bag room when not in Thailand for free. Loads of regulars. Then the owner's son took over and it changed. No more free bag storage, and the prices went up a lot. So, I moved to Honey Hotel near Asoke. Lovely Vietnam era hotel. That's gone now. I did the free transfer to Dynasty in Pattaya a few times. Didn't know of a third in Bkk, but the second was just along from the first and cost a lot more. Taking a nice girl to the islands was my bliss, which is why I did it so many times- years and years, decades actually. Out the back of Dynasty Inn used to be a place called Uncle Rays. Real cheap place but ideal for long stays next to Nana. Dynasty took it over and renovated it. When I started staying at Dynasty it was 800 baht a night. Under new ownership same room cost 1200.
  20. My boss was the cause of my stress. She wasn't going anywhere, so I took early retirement and best thing I ever did. I love being retired, even if I can't live in LOS and don't have a lot of money.
  21. Hua Hin was OK before Hilton built that excrement in the middle of the town.
  22. I agree. Can use a library for books, look for bargains at Op Shops. I buy DVDs for $1 to watch.
  23. Yeah, the beaches will be lovely without humans on them.
  24. That beach is garbage IMO. Also it's got horse poo on it and almost vanishes at high tide. I've stayed in Hua Hin and wouldn't go back- rubbish beach, rubbish town. Go south for nice beaches.
