You miss the point that your opinion and hers are very different. By giving her anything you give her expectation of more. You can't expect Thai women to think like a western woman. Roses and Daisies are both flowers, but very different. Many, too many western men come to Thailand thinking they are knights on a white horse going to rescue some poor Thai woman from her misfortune, and end up losing their fortune. Suckers all. I don't claim to have been better that them either. Lessons learned the hard way.

You must live on a different stratosphere from myself. I don't know anyone that could give their ( non working ) wife $1,000 to spend on clothes. As for my Thai wife, I occasionally bought a 300 baht dress for her, but the idea of handing over 2,000 baht "just because" would have been a sick joke. I guess being a nurse was the real sick joke when I could have been the one handing over $1000 to a trophy wife.

Oh so very very true. Women saw my car and status ( nurses are paid diddley squat ) and I never even got to the date stage. On the other hand, female nurses are very popular with men, hmmmmmm.

I have those exact same problems and I'm pretty sure I don't have a stone in my brain. While I haven't had it diagnosed, I think I have mild dyslexia. My memory problems are age related.

In my case a Thai doctor correctly diagnosed a problem of mine that at least 5 farang doctors got wrong. Another told me ( correctly ) that I was walking wrong- no farang doctor ever told me that.

Recognising a different faith is not the same as following it's rituals. In the past both tried to kill the other. Now we allow each other to exist in the same country ( except certain countries such as Saudi that doesn't allow any other religion ) which has to be an advance. However, IMO multifaith meetings are a nonsense, unless different branches of the same variety of religion.

Was there a reason for not including Judaism in that post? Personally, I think any religion is a club for the club members and they ain't going to be sharing the goodies with anyone else. They may tolerate other faiths, but IMO that's as far as it goes. The Buddhist monks of Burma apparently had no problem getting down on the Rohingyas. That's one of my reasons for not being religious, as faith isn't a one off model, it is a one size fits all model.

Sunmaster the ego likes to think he can make a difference in the world, that he can bring glimmers of goodness, truth and beauty from the Source to illuminate the dark corners of the world. Sunmaster only has to look at Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, Ukraine, Southern border of the US to know that Sunmaster doesn't have a hope in Hades of bringing goodness to the world. IMO we can only bring those qualities to our own lives and perhaps to those that we know. When I was in my teens I was going to save the horses of the world from extinction. First thing I did after I started working was buy a brood mare and start breeding. Complete failure and was lucky that I found somewhere other than the knackers for them ( two by then ). I saw the foal some years later- it was a magnificent Palamino like beauty. Many years later, horses are doing just fine without me and I'm a little bit wiser.

They might as well just have had a normal diesel, but I suppose it looked good, which is important these days. Knowing what little I do of Amazon, they may pump it into the warehouse offices to keep their employees more alert and productive. Sorry to burst that bubble, but I've sucked on the O2 at work ( the medical variety ) and it had zero effect on my alertness or productivity. It's also dangerous at high levels as it removes the desire to breath, which is triggered by CO2. No one can survive breathing pure O2.

I read the link as provided by the poster you quoted, but it didn't explain much. It's like they expect one to go read a lot of other info to find out what the <deleted> they are talking about. All that I did get was that she copied other people's work and claimed it for her own, and that she wasn't doing enough about antisemitism on her school campus. Perhaps AN didn't post anything about it because it's not very interesting.

All empires die, some just take less time to do so is all. The Persians, the Greeks, The Romans, the Holy Roman Empire, the Spanish, the French ( died in Algeria and Indo China fiasco ), the British ( died in the slaughter in Europe ), and now America. The only question now, IMO, is how long it takes to die- the Roman empire apparently took centuries to die, the French Empire rather less.
