This is incorrect. The actual rule is posted by @marin a couple of posts below yours. You can not declare alcohol or tobacco above the allowed limit and expect to pay the duties.

AFAIK importing alcohol (more than 1L) requires a licence, and it's not possible to just declare it and pay the duty..

It was a washing machine from Lotus's online shop. It was delivered on the back of a pickup by 1 guy alone. The machine probably weighed more than him. He dropped it. I had the same problem 15,000 baht refund sent to my wallet, and I couldn't activate the wallet. Lazada gave me the answer (only works using the phone app). Go to "account" then "wallet" Tap on the amount - don't try to activate. Choose "withdraw" then complete the deposit/withdrawal form. I can't remember exactly, but I think I got a OTP from my bank, then the withdrawal was received a few days later.

When the currency is strong, exported goods (and tourism is an export) become less attractive.
