These were what was used in Thailand some 40 odd years ago. Most hotels I stayed in had them. Aside from anything else they were a lot noisier than the split type and when badly installed , rattled like hell. They are still very common in the Philippines and you can get them on Lazada. One advantage with them is that you can pretty much install them yourself as no complicated plumbing to deal with.

When using the air con most people close the windows and door. I find this leads to a lack of fresh breathable air ( oxygen ) in the room and I don't sleep well. My solution is to leave the window open a little ( about an inch ) to let a little fresh air in. The curtain stops just past the open window so not much cool air escapes but I still get the fresh air. Seems to work for me.

Be careful. Too much shade and some grass types will die , as has just happened to part of our lawn. Had to chop 80% of our 9 year old mango tree back to revive things.

We also had a Daikon aircon unit because we thought it was the best you could get and yes it dripped water a lot just like the LG we previously had. We now have a Mitsubishi Mr Slim inverter. In the end it dripped. They all do if not frequently cleaned but the Mitsubish drips a lot less than the Daikin did.

I think this is the most probable explanation. If she went on holiday to Ibiza she would be getting hit on. Here , only Thai guys would be interested in her. The result is a subconscious resentment at being kicked off her perch. You can get dropped off there but getting around without your own wheels will be difficult. Electric bicycle might work but you would have to plan where to charge up and night.

I really loved the A&W Mozzaburger with curly fries. A bit expensive but very tasty. Wife used to like the morning fish salad. I will miss Texas chicken wraps and fries. Agreed. More sanctions and secondary sanctions need to be put on Iran , China and South Korea to stop them funding and profiting from supplying Russias invasion of Ukraine. It is a disgrace that secondary sanctions have not already been implemented. Without ammunition from these totalitarian states Putin would have had to give up his imperialist ambitions long ago. Shame on western governments on not going all in from the get go. The only people doing well from this drawn out affair are arms manufacturers.

Yes ...wise takes the money from my UK bank then sends in to my Thai bank....almost instantaneous as you say.

Well....enter the Wise site.....( once a month ) type in amount to be sent and for what reason ( monthly expenses ) then I select debit card. Transfer normally goes through in a few seconds ( not weekends ) When I tried bank to bank transfer things got more complicated and it took a week. It probably costs a few quid more but i can afford the 5 pound extra for the speed. Each to his own.
