On topic Man blows up apartment trying to kill a cockroach : https://www.independent.co.uk/asia/japan/japan-man-apartment-cockroach-b2464635.html A 54-year-old Japanese man accidentally caused an explosion in his apartment while attempting to kill a cockroach. He reportedly used a large amount of insecticide to kill the pest on 10 December which led to the explosion in his apartment in Kumamoto on the island of Kyushu, about 230 miles southwest of Hiroshima, around midnight. The police reported minor injuries to the resident and identified burn marks near his kotatsu, a Japanese heating table, according to Mainichi. The unidentified man spotted a cockroach in his apartment in the city’s Chuo Ward and in an attempt to kill the pest, sprayed a large amount of insecticide. A moment later, the apartment blew up, Kumamoto prefectural police said.

Yes, early in the morning just about dawn I took to standing on the front porch, drinking coffee and scratching my balls while watching the sunrise. Pretty soon they were all doing it. I had to put a stop to it though and told them to go home and make their own coffee and scratch their own privates.

Altogether now , Tie a red ribbon Around the old mango tree It's been several long weeks Do you still want me If I don't see a ribbon around the old mango tree I'll just stay in my Benz Forget about being PM And put the blame on them If I don't see a ribbon around the old mango tree -
I have actually had an out of body experience in my late teens so that much I know is possible. Belief doesn't come into it. It happened. But life after death is a completely different kettle of fish . One thing is for certain , we will all die and then if there is then we will know. If there isn't then we won't know.

If you are in Bangkok when there is flooding you will see millions of roaches swarming out of the drains. In the moobahn where we used to live in Nonthaburi, every 6 months the local authority would come around a spray poison gas down into the roadside drains. Came home one afternoon after such a spraying to find 57 dead roaches of all types in the last throws of death under our car port. Roaches are legion in Bangkok or any city with proper drains and sewers. By contrast , since moving to wifes village where only cess pits are used havn't seen one big roach. Only small ones about 1 cm long and not even a lot of those. In Bangkok there were always a few jing joks around bumping of mosquitoes. Here , of an evening there are often 12 on the front balcony alone if the light is on. Always half a dozen hiding in the house <deleted>ting all over the place. Difficult to control. But you should see how big the termites can get :

You made the mistake of blinking and so you missed it. Here in lower Petchabun it got pretty cool ( 22=23 until midday ) several weeks ago. Since then it's been a steady 34 which when I got here 40 years ago would have been considered hot in the hot season. The only way you can tell it is the ' hot season ' is that the malls are still trying to flog winter clothing , jumpers and jackets etc. It gets worse. In the coming hot season we can apparently expect weeks on end at 45 C

Why somebody would add a sad emoji to this beats me. Good advice and avoids confusion and short change. -

If a dog bites you here get a rabies jab immediatley. Take no chances. Dog probably ok but if it has got rabies you are a walking dead man without a rabies shot. You CANNOT wait and see if you start feeling unwell , then get jabbed. Too late. You are dead. Doesn't cost much for the jab and is no big deal. https://www.pacificprime.co.th/blog/rabies-outbreaks-in-thailand/ -
Phat Kaphrao ranked third best dish in the world by Taste Atlas

Does'nt have to be minced pork. A Swedish friend of mine was really surpised when I ordered pat grapo gy. He didn't know that existed. Tried it and liked it. Also can be made with shtimp or squid. When ordering a chicken pat grapow I make sure to tell them ' without skin ' I don't know why the spell it with a K ?? Should be a G. In Thai กระเพรา , first letter is gor gy ? A friend wanted to go to Ko Chang and couldn't understand why Thai's had difficulty understanding him . Once he stopped pronouncing it Co chang and tried Got Chang ....no problem -

But to listen to them they would have it that anyone doing it themselves is a fool. Probably nothing to worry about right now but will probably get addressed in the future. I actually feel sorry for guys who live in a tourist hotspot. The queues at these places can be truly horrendus spurring many to use an agent. When I lived in Bangkok I prefered doing visa runs to going to Chaeng Wattana. Luckily where I now live our immigration office is often empty so pretty quick to do it yourself.

It's an oft repeated cliche about Filipino food being bad. . Definately not as good as Thailand but if you are careful where you eat , reasonably good food can be found. I stayed there about a year and although many places were pretty grim , I usually managed to find something good enough without an excess of difficulty. On the plus side , if you are a drinker they have a better choice of booze there and cheaper than Thailand. A bigger problem was accomodation. Hotels and rentals definately more expensive than Thailand . Place I sometimes stay at in Petchabun only 350 baht a night. Super clean and very central. Much more difficult to find in the Philippines. Health care services also nowhere near as good as Thailand , especially out in the islands. People are friendly though and the women more open minded.

*WARNING* AIS Roaming Charges while Overseas
Denim replied to Mr Meeseeks's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Yes, like the OP I got burned by AIS so now when out of the country I remove the SIM and only use it for WIFI. This worked well. Went to the UK and used LINE to video call the wife every day without having to alter any settings. Too easy. -
What else should yet another £100million have been spent on?
Denim replied to Chomper Higgot's topic in Home Country Forum
The need to be seen as ' doing something ' about immigration has not only made this government a laughing stock but has pi**ed a fortune in tax payers money up the wall on a scheme that was obviously riduculous and unworkable from the get go. -
Neither do I but my friends there tell me they all wear 5 condoms to get a good fit and improve the sensations. Go figure ?

The value of solar spotlight wattage compared to the old system
Denim replied to billd766's topic in The Electrical Forum
I have a 45 watt solar light in every room. Each one has its own small seperate panel on the roof near where the light is mounted. They come on automatically as soon as it gets dark and last through to about midnight. So , if we get a mains power out , at least we have light and can still use the gas cooker etc. Only thing missing is the air con. Having said that , God always has his eye on me. Whenever I spend some of my humble savings on any ' good ideas ' he makes sure to nullify my investment by ensuring there are never again any mains power outs etc. Same as when I wash my car. Might not have rained for weeks and the forecast is good but withing 24 hours of washing and polishing the skys open and there is mud everywhere. I see him on his cloud surrounded by his favorite angels , passing around the manna , slapping his knee and having a good laugh at my expense.
