Owned an Imp and 2 Sunbeam Stilleto coupe versions which had much better trim. The clutch and gear shifting was heavy on all of them. To improve handling I had a sack of sand in the front compartment. Not a great British car but I liked the look of the coupe. My then Filipina nurse girlfriend who I was teaching to drive once drove the Imp 5 miles to work in 2nd gear because she couldn't work the heavy clutch.

One thing I dislike about these bonding trips is the crazy hour they often want to leave. Can't go at a civilized time . Nope , Have to leave at 11 pm to arrive early morning and save on a hotel bill. Wife goes once a year but I know the driver otherwise I would worry.

Yup. We really like it there. Great food , cheap wine . laid back atmosphere , good night market to sit and people watch surrounded by colonial building. Hell, if I wasn't married I'd like to live there. Like rural Thailand 40 years ago.

Wrong. It is actually more expensive to do a visa run than an extension. I could just as easily say that people who do extensions are just scraping by and can't afford to do a visa run or that they are too nervous to cross a land border. I would be wrong of course , just as wrong as someone who thinks people do visa runs do so only because they haven't got 400,000. I loved doing them. 5 or 6 nights away from home, traveling to another country with the wife, checking out interesting sites on the way. We would give up doing extensions tomorrow and go back to visa runs but can no longer do so because the MIL is now needing 24 hour care. Luckily , our immigration office is very friendly so the extension is pretty easy experience. But I have lived in places where the immigration officers were rude and corrupt and a nightmare to deal with. Pot luck.

They added that the numbers 3 2 6 7 9 and 0 also had some merit and to get all of them for a sure win.

Obviously , when this happens it might be time the unit had a clean but as a quick fix I just go to the end of the drainage pipe outside, wrap a clean kitchen tissue around it then blow as hard as I can ( cover bed with towel first to catch the <deleted> that gets blown out )

Very true. What I was actually thinking is that I have to go to the UK for a couple of months next spring and with one of these I could tell if the wife was up to the mark cutting the lawn and trimming the hedges. Failure in these tasks would mean no duty free Channel perfume on my return.

I was in my local 3BB office yesterday paying my internet bill when I noticed a security camera for sale in a cabinet. I asked how much it cost. Answer 50 baht. I took this to mean 50 baht to use only but had to be bought first. After further explanation she assured me it was free of charge but would put an extra 50 baht a month on my existing internet bill. Pretty cheap deal. If I go for it , 3bb will send a technician to install it correctly . Once installed it works with an app on your phone so that if you are away a few nights you can check in at home to see if everything is ok. Anyone gone for this option yet and if so is it worth getting ?
