What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2023)
recom273 replied to CharlieH's topic in Entertainment
No worries. Sonarr doesn't search any specific tracker, it searches a load of sites - but uses the names from TVDB, which don't always match up with other sites or info. It will be good to find something new. I'm on a new series of Breeders, which has gone a bit dull, Billions was good last night, Underbelly (Razor) - only 3 more seasons to go, a new season of Darkwinds, the indian reservation cop drama on AMC, it was OK in series one, but not so now. -

You got me again! It wasn't coming up on a sonarr search. The English title is .. The Pimp – No F***ing Fairytale -
I bought mine from China - https://s.lazada.co.th/s.kbH3u Mine are this style, you need to chat with the seller who is very helpful. I use mine to control a zigbee dimmer relay, although I will probably use automations, I thought it sensible to control the relay with momentary switches too.

The Deuce is an another show written by George P. Pelecanos (the wire, treme). Apart from the storyline, I like the vignette blur effect, some found it annoying tho’ New season, 07 of Billions .. if anyone cares any more. -
How much monthly salary should you pay for rescuing a bar girl?
recom273 replied to Goat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I also say it’s a strange question. I guess it’s dependent upon both parties. When I got together with my wife, she was sharing a box apartment with a few people, it was her place and she lived in the biggest room, while one cousin slept on the sofa and another girl in another room. It didn’t suit me to have her working 11.00-10.00 at the Emporium, so she left work and I made it clear, of course I would look after her and but we work together for the future. I returned to the UK, she got a job in a school food concession, I sent her some cash to make life easier, but then her sister arrived in BKK, her mum started asking for cash. After 9 months I returned and got rid of the Klingons, and we started a fresh, all money is ours, although I manage the money, she has an allowance that pay the rent and covers food, we work together for our own good, she makes her own money and if she wants extra she just asks. I help her as much as I am allowed / risk in her business and she cooks and does whatever to help me when I work in the evening. Paying for someone to not contribute wouldn’t be in my spec wether she was a bar girl or whatever profession. -
Yes, I read a fb comment - the commenter was a rep for a paint company and gave some % figures, was interesting. I forget now, but more than x% will be over dilution but is often done by Thai painters because it makes their job easier, We have kept our eyes on things like this during our build .. builders cutting corners to save a few baht, I guess it all adds up and Thai people on the whole don’t mind it. It’s quite a battle with the builders to get them to understand some concepts like spending a little bit of time and money now, doing things right saves a lot of time and work in the future. I hate this finish, sorry. I find it rather tacky. It’s often found on blue houses with accompanying orange stripes. I have always loved simple white house’s of the Mediterranean, the color is for a reason, they reflect the sun. Each to their own, tho’

Idk if this is worthwhile, but it seems a good idea to me. We were driving past a TOA place the other day, and popped in to see if we could get a discount over the big stores. It turned out they were the local distributors, they immediately dispatched two sales reps out, they made a few calls, took pictures of the plans and gave us a BOQ. One thing we have “learned” is that no tradesman in this country can assess quantity, It’s either way over or you are returning to a shop multiple times to buy small quantities negating any discount you have made by buying bulk in advance. At least a sales rep may give a good starting point, over some local who has no real technical knowledge other than over diluting the paint makes it faster to apply. I need to contact Kaptain and Berger. Does anyone have any other suggestions of reliable manufacturers? I have used dulux in the past on interior walls, but I don’t have the budget on the exterior of this build.

@dingdongrb sorry, have never bought what I would know as gravel, just the grey stones. I can buy them by the tonne and cube. The guys who deliver the soil know where to buy tonnes, whereas builders merchant's sell them by the cube. I once needed some stone in a hurry and got a local place to drop off a cube, the tractor driver shook his head and said if they come on a rusty old pickup, it’s never a cube. A tonne is a much better deal.

Police Raid Luxurious Urban Village Gathering of 9 Nationalities

9 party goers, 24 pils, 2g+ ketamine - I think anyone would have trouble keeping the volume down for 24 hours. -
I have an issue with my neighbor, we had a border dispute, he is Thai, but no one understood what he was talking about, my builder, architect, solicitor, wife - anyway, things have gotten from bad to worse. In the end we went to the police after he came to the gate in a similar fashion to your neighbor. The police said without a video they could do nothing, I would suggest you record any and every interaction with her, make a report of any claims, just so if things get worse you can pursue them further.
-
That's what I see - two kids who don't move, maybe they are his kids - one of them may have been dicking around on the skateboard, the policeman may have done something to escalate and the old man didnt appreciate it. He only seems to have a problem with one officer, the policeman is showing a little restraint, but badly trained, if he was going to pull his baton he shouldn't use it to antagonize the situation by hitting the skateboard - he should have only used it (imho) to take out the tourist at the knees, but what do I care.
-
I doubt they want a copy of your license, lol. However, this is good advice. In Hat Yai, wear a helmet, its a city, its a relatively easy place to navigate, but there are lots of cars and bikes who all know the roads better than you. The police aren't really out to shake down tourists for money, but they are proactive in getting people to wear helmets within the city limit (in the daytime) and will jump out at traffic lights and fine you.

I think the best places to get bike hire is at one of the guest houses, I think Cathay GH on Sai 1 or 2 is now closed, they used to hire bikes, but there are other hostels, the hive or there was another hostel I saw on the quiet backstreets around where homeless is. There were a couple of enterprising people on the local HY fb group that started to hire to teachers, but it was more trouble than it was worth, but might be worth a look on fb.

Feasibility Study Expedited for Government Spaceport Project

Someones milking that one! Three years! -
That's correct - The thing I don't see is the connection with spending. That tea towel doesn't have to be the cheapest tea towel, tho', it doesn't mean if I have to buy one tea towel, that I can't buy a nice Irish linen tea towel to use because I feel it would perform the job a lot better. Other peoples concept of minimalism equates to using that one tea towel to shower with and use it to wipe vegetables, because they can wash it in between uses. I feel that a bit too far. Someone mentioned something about buying perfume. So, if you buy that one bottle, you value it, it is used in a number of scenarios, is that not minimalist?
-
To me this is not minimalism - How is minimalism connected with spending, and generally being tight. Why not spend money on one bottle of aftershave that you like? just one simple bottle. For example, why not spend money on one phone that does the job well, that does the job efficiently, uses one cable that is also useful for other devices and does not need replacing on a regular basis.
-
Yes, but for me minimalist doesn't mean sacrificing standard of living, for example living in a room with a rug instead of house with a couch and a bed just because you can do both on the floor. To me, it means having less superfluous junk, even if I buy something and either sell or giveaway at a later date.

Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai announce deal to form government
recom273 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Absolutely. This has to be the plan in the long run. It started with FF now MF, the senate changes, the opposition gathers momentum, PT show their true colors, bingo. The only thing i'm hearing is "well, if our voice isnt heard this time, what's the point in voting, its going to be the same .." also, PT are still quite have a strong hold out here, maybe they have to dig their hands into the coffers to get the same number of votes next time. This election they were a bit tight, only 500B for the holder of the house book. -

For sure this is the second to worse result, the first being Prawit becoming PM, but honestly, what is brewing? Nothing, from what I can see. Life will go on as per normal in Thailand, people will moan in the market as they have for the last however many years since Taksins departure, and that’s it.- 80 replies

You can buy a sim card, one time purchase, valid for one year on Lazada that uses one of the main carriers. You might want to post in the mobile communications forum for the best deals. You can buy reolink directly from their site, and they have their own shop on AliExpress, delivery is quite fast, but maybe give them in month to get the camera to you. The video posted is quite old now, but the info is still valid, you can compare the images. I think the newer dahua cameras (if they do sim cameras) seem to have the edge in terms of value and sharpness over reolink, however, depends upon your needs. For me, dahua have had security issues in the past and the servers may be in mainland China, so I would pass. I think if you have a NVR on a CCTV system in your own country, you could add the sim camera as a remote camera.
-
I always have good things to say about reolink .. HK based, not a company connected with the Chinese mainland, responsive support, good quality images. They make a SIM card cameras. https://reolink.com/blog/sim-card-security-cameras-buying-guide/
