  1. The missus would always want to buy Pizza co. when they did "buy one - get one" for a month, now they do "2 fer" every Thursday. I don't mind Pizza co. once a year, but its more like a savory sponge cake.
  2. If whoever parked correctly, then they wouldn't have their photos taken, right? So what's the issue? Locals seem to have issues with this public loss of face. Wether or not they are blurred, the cars will still be identifiable, I should imagine.
  3. This is sad. I have seen a few events like this where adults teach kids to do brave acts in schools. Yes, it's good to be aware of the different types of extinguisher and uses. However, we were always taught the main rules were to get to a place of safety and call the fire brigade. These displays always have to have a fun or wow! factor. Im sure someone would have set off the fire extinguisher to get a big cloud of co2 and everyone can laugh and smile. Not today, sadly.
  4. People say this, I only use Sandisc ultra, and I have never lost one, despite homebridge writing to the sd card. I have 4x pi’s in a 1U rack, I make images of the whole cards and backup the data from time to time just to be on the safe side, so far, so good.
  5. No, the anamai are government clinics. LOL! I also know of a clinic very similar to yours. He is the only clinic open in the daytime in Hat Yai, I needed a sick note for my employer and I went to this clinic. He proudly displays a certificate from Stanford University on his wall, although there was nothing wrong with me, he insisted on a checkup and told me I only had months to live and that I should have this saline drip. ???? We used to get out drivers license and WP certificates from him too as he was open until 11.00 pm - in reality, you pressed the buzzer and woke him up. Same story, “so .. feeling ok? Any problems? There you go 50B for Thai, 100 for “farang” .. when I went there, always old people there on saline drips, always made me chuckle. But, yeah, evening clinics are usually staffed by doctors from the hospital and anamai are usually by government nurses, but I agree there are fake clinics.
  6. I don't know if that's the same for Thai people, but I'm sure they wouldn't turn away a feverish 5 year old that wasn't registered in the local area. But just to say, I agree, Anamais are great! If you have a problem in the daytime, you are kind of limited, some clinics are open in the evening are staffed by doctors that work in hospitals in the daytime, or trek into town to a private hospital and avoid the wait times of a government hospital. I had some mosquito bites that had became infected, we were on our way to RAM KKC and thought we would just stop at the Anamai. Yes, they could help, she asked my wife lots of questions about where we were living, etc - you know village people know everything. She noticed I was happy to babble on in Thai - then she gave me some antibiotics. When we asked to pay, she said there was a process for foreigners, but she didnt know where the forms were and tbh, it was more trouble than it was worth, so sent me on my way, all sorted for free. Our anamai is just a small concrete building, one doctor, one receptionist and two treatment rooms, but the one in the next village is like a small hospital. If I was the OP I would just take the girl to the local private hospital, the charge isnt likely to be so great. Stating at 1000B or something.
  7. I know of a bike rider who was asked by the insurance company to provide copies of license and passport, he sent an IDP and copy of the valid passport pages and they refused to pay out, due to the 3 month rule. I wouldn’t want to dismiss any statements from any poster either way, I would just get a Thai license. I did a course for drivers in Khon Kaen a couple of months back - there was no sight test even tho the school had the reaction test machine, colours on the wall and traffic lights - we were issued with a certificate which we took straight to DLT, they took out photo and that was it. 2500B. I liked it, there was no pretense by the school, most people vanished after the practical test and came back to scan in at 2 hour intervals - better than the DLT busting your balls in some charade of a driving license examination.
  8. Yes, ideally you would run the monitor software on a remote server that doesn’t suffer from power outages or regular LOS, maybe some cheap VPS. The server would ping your router at regular intervals, I ping my company server every 60 seconds. When there is no response, then you get a notification on your phone, I just discovered the software I suggested can even use LINE messenger to send you that notification, I usually use discord because I generally have LINE notifications switched off.
  9. I use a thing called uptime Kuma - there are other things like uptime robot, to monitor my companies server at a glance. We haven't had issues for a long time, so I cant even remember how I did it and what I was trying to achieve, (I think I was trying to collect the data and learn about grafana) but there are blogposts on how to monitor your connection. https://community.oh-lalabs.com/t/monitor-internet-connection-uptime-kuma/2235 I get discord notifications when the server is down, you can use other paid services like pushbullet when your ISP is down or here's something about home assistant. https://techstuff.leighonline.net/2023/03/26/send-uptime-kuma-webhook-notifications-to-home-assistant-that-is-behind-cloudflare-zero-trust/ However, means you will probably need to run the software on a pi or some kind of server somewhere, sorry.
  10. Why would there be any consequences? The signal from the WAN passes to the ONT, which is then converted and travels down the ethernet cable, as soon as it does that, it's in your network. Any outgoing from your network joins 3BB network at the ONT. I think the fact that they cannot connect to the router is very important, I have heard from people on AIS that the ISP can directly access the supplied router, and another post here that 3BB put his supplied router into Bridge mode remotely. like wt? I have nothing to hide in my router, my router works faster that theirs and its just VLAN, firewall rules and a reverse proxy on one forwarded port, but its none of the ISPs business, and I wouldn't want things failing because of some OTA update or reset.
  11. I have been to small art / photographic exhibitions at the FCC before and also at Neilson Hays library .. maybe contact them, they may be able to offer something.
  12. I found another documentary, channel 4 - The Accused : National treasures on Trial. I wasn’t too aware of these accusations on Neil Fox and Paul Gambocinni at the time. I vaguely remember Cliff Richard being accused, but knew nothing of the outcome. Maybe worth checking, filmed during the trials but not released until August ‘22 https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/aug/24/the-accused-national-treasures-on-trial-review-cliff-richard-operation-yewtree
  13. Good luck, I don't remember the initial post, but thanks for the update. I can identify with your problems, we are building a house at the moment, and face similar challenges as mentioned on a daily basis.
  14. The Crowded Room on appleTV Lior Raz from Fauda makes an appearance.
  15. Yes, me too. I always thought “wait until it expires” was a bit of an expat myth, but a lot depends upon the office. Not much use to the OP, only another 10 months to go. ????
  16. I think there is some major confusion here. @Mickeymaus mentioned nothing of data cable. This explains LTE Cats well.
  17. Yes, I had the duck before - Its all flooding back now. I always enjoyed meals there, just the vibe and the service. I think spending so long in HY, you work out the menus never change, I remember Homless being another culprit, an great looking crew of chefs but no creativity, no weekly/daily/seasonal specials. We have some great pizza places here in Khon Kaen, but I don't think it beats the quality of Japanese restaurants in HY - Mari Jang near the bus station and the one on the side road opposite Siam Nakarin building are still some of my favorite places in Thailand. We can get HY fried chicken in Issan, but like we gave up buying it, such a disappointment - there is nowhere that can compete with the morning places in HY Nai or the evening spot under the railway bridges near the central market. Haven't you seen sprouts in HY before? I miss them very much, we usually found them in market behind the tiger temple / Sri Sawang Wong school.
  18. After so long in Thailand, don’t you just find yourself nodding and agreeing with peoples beliefs, true or not?
  19. I think that’s par for the course .. he has a Samsung phone which he doesn’t want to wear out with all those packets, so just needs a cheap non-Chinese phone to act as a hotspot. So I’m guessing he will need two sims either way. ????‍♀️ idk.
  20. I’m pretty sure TVC is not at capacity. It’s was always that if you asked on the fb page they would probably give you an invite.
  21. I worked in schools all over Thailand for more than 10 years, generally the food is OK, nothing really to much to worry about. The worst food was at private / bilingual schools where they charged quite a bit for compulsory school lunch, the best food at government schools. Some schools used off site kitchens, but the food was always cold, but of a good standard and the service efficient. Obviously, the money is going to the wrong person.
  22. LTE routers can be defined by Cat4, Cat6 and Cat12. As you point out, Category also defines the operating standards of cable.
  23. There was some great threads about sim routers in this forum, like you say the different generations and stream aggregation, one guy really knew his stuff.
  24. Why not buy a decent sim router I like this company https://www.gl-inet.com they are based in HK, Its run by an English guy. Support and products are spot on and intuitive.
