  1. "Ignore" is for people who like living in an echo chamber. My tips to add: #4. Spend less time on the forum, post less. Quality of life improves immediately. #5. Follow simon43's thread "Day to day life in Myanmar". Fantastic reading, and very refreshing as it is someone posting positive experiences from deep inside a country that very few of us will experience ourselves, and is a poster doing good things in the country they live in. Such a contrast with the Thai bashing negativity that infects the rest of this site.
  2. So self employed people can get mortgages!! Wow!! Who'd have thought? Or did Yaxley help you as a champion of the people?
  3. Perhaps it is because Japan hasn't gone around bombing and invading Middle Eastern countries for the last 15 years. Just a thought.
  4. Ah, so you mean he is like Robin Hood! Good old Tommy, helping the children (although not those that were abused by white people or his friends) and now helping the poor obtain mortgages! He's a hero!
  5. Germany and France aren't democracies? Wow, that's news.
  6. Ah, he's filled it full of Londoners I see, you know, the people who re-elect him - constantly. Impressive move by Sadiq to fill London full of Londoners if that's what you say he's done, amazing.
  7. Sorry, it was just a general reply and not aimed at your post specifically.
  8. Interesting development in that the driver of the Cybertruck that exploded was also a US vet (or active soldier) and served in the same military base as the new Orleans guy. Both rented their cars through the same app if that is at all relevant (probably not). https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/02/cybertruck-explosion-driver-las-vegas
  9. Ah, the Daily Mail is critical, I wonder why? I have family in London, they are pretty happy with him (although they say he has a bit of an ego). He was elected by Londoners for a third term which is unprecedented. If London had gone "down the toilet" they would not have re-elected him. Again. The most successful mayor in history in terms of tenure. But assuming you, Jonny, and your ilk don't actually live there - you just don't like him for obvious reasons that have nothing to do with his achievements. The only opinions that matter are those of Londoners, and they support him. End of story.
  10. Even though provoked with a sickening attack on October 7th - and a response was justified - this is clearly a genocide by any definition of the word. To argue otherwise loses you any credibility.
  11. Absolute tripe. If you follow him on Twitter he does not speak the truth. He posts lies constantly, so much stuff he posts is factually incorrect but he just spews out so much stuff every day he doesn't care and his fanboys lap it up, they don't fact check it. I agree with the poster who said he is out of control, he really is. Let's not forget his upbringing in privileged apartheid South Africa - which his father was a staunch supporter of. It speaks volumes.
  12. Conspiracy theory nonsense. Get over yourself, you sound ridiculous.
  13. Get over yourself, really. Any thoughts since his identity has been released? Maybe they wanted to actually confirm his identity before they released it. Just a thought.
  14. Thanks for sharing the pricing, although I am not sure why. Sorry, in the US you have a terrible healthcare system. Where I come from it is free at the point of use as we believe healthcare is a universal right and everyone should have equal access and cover. It is not perfect by any means but it is fair and equitable and pretty much the entire nation loves and respects it (bar people like Farage who would like to take it away as there is money to be made). You are complaining about the cost. I agree, it is horrendous. By expanding coverage to those who couldn't afford it or were refused cover, how did Obama "destroy healthcare"?
  15. Incorrect, I couldn't care less, don't even look at them. Lots of posts where people whinge about them, can you find one of mine?
  16. I said it in my post. Biden was an awful figurehead. I don't have much of an opinion on Harris. Neither of them have been found guilty of 34 felony counts though. Neither of them paid hush money to a porn actress, neither of them said they could "grab people by the p****", neither of them refused to accept the results of an election and encouraged people to riot, neither of them falsified business records. Sorry, but the extent of Trump's immoral behaviour does NOT come under the "normal politician" umbrella, at all. Did he? Did he also fool all of the other intelligent non racist people in the world? I follow news, politics, I read books, I am non partisan (don't care for Democrat vs Republican), I take it all on face value. If you don't think Obama was a great statesman then sorry, you are simply blinded by your own political blinkers. The world is bigger than your Trump obsessed little corner of the internet. Fantastic, you trotted out the "it's a people problem, not a gun problem" cliche so early!! Well done! Gold star to you. The statistics are so overwhelmingly against you it is not worth even going there. If living in a nanny state means our children don't get regularly shot at school, if it means there are no mass shootings on an almost daily basis, then I am all for that. Guns ARE the problem, only the most blinkered can't see that. We have regular mass shootings in schools. Take guns away? Nah. Arm the teachers! More guns is the answer, obviously! Sorry, the rest of the world laughs at you, but also pities you. Look up Dunblane and the response in the UK. Look at gun deaths since. Look up Port Arthur and the response in Australia. Look at gun deaths since. See any correlation? Jim Jefferies says it better than I ever could: And:
  17. Oh my God, Jonny just keeps descending in to the land of the cliche. A "my pitbull wouldn't hurt a fly" owner, of course! You are a caricature. Now everything becomes clear....
  18. I do find it hilarious that it is always the right wing people on here who get triggered and upset about emojis. Who even notices or looks at them??
  19. Biden was an absolutely terrible figurehead. The rest of the world cannot believe that in a country the size of the US, with intelligent people in it, the two at the top of the pile were Biden and Trump. How can that happen? The rest of the world laughs. So him (as a figurehead), but Trump MkI and George W Bush were the worst in my lifetime by a country mile. Trump was just a lying, disgusting buffoon, Bush is a war criminal (Blair too). Obama was a great statesman, someone you could be proud of to represent your country on the world stage. So, as a non American, please enlighten me - how did Obama "destroy healthcare"? I thought he extended health care coverage to people who otherwise couldn't afford it or couldn't be covered. Isn't that a good thing? Must be more to it that I am missing. PS: none of them could do anything about your rampant gun problem which is a stain on all of them in my opinion.
  20. Ah thanks, I had completely missed that news story.
  21. To be honest I don't understand the article as what they are talking about (a fine of ten times the toll) has been in place since day one. In the early days my wife went through on her car when I hadn't registered it yet (she thought I had). We got a notification to pay with photos of the car passing the toll, went online and paid. Easy. Pretty sure it is all linked to your tax renewal now too, definitely the police traffic fines are - I can attest to this personally as I went to renew my tax and there was a fine I had missed and I had to pay that before they would process my tax. M-Flow was supposed to be brought in on the 9 first to iron out kinks then go nationwide. Not sure why that hasn't happened yet, but it would make a massive improvement if all toll booths were removed.
