But the consequence of getting a 'retirement extension' from a remote location, would mean that the IO doing a 90 day for example, would be required to do that 'free' work, while knowing very well that a non-local IO got a share of the money for the initial 'extension' work. Not happy with that. So some Agents who deal with a non-local IO, for whatever reason, will offer a free service of obtaining all 90 day reports from the IO that was used to obtain the 'retirement visa'. This of course would entail having to send the passport again and again through mail to obtain the 90 day stamps. So one could always go again to the same Agent, who will offer the service of obtaining 90 days stamps. This Agent does it by mailing the passport to this remote location, Nakhon Sawan, for example. The remote office will offer the service of 90 days stamps, since this office obtained originally the large fee to obtain the retirement visa. So ideally, if possible, find an Agent who is able to obtain IO services locally.

Hi, just thinking that I might have read wrongly the intent of your post. The last question, one of those, perhaps was just a question, and not a sarcasm... If I was wrong then I apologize. And I am posting some information on the use of Agents. That sometimes is the only way to obtain a reasonable service. " Re-posting this one here... Seems like you might need this knowledge as well..... "Well yes, in this land, situations are mostly related to money and territory. I am located in Phuket, and there are many Agents who offer a service of dealing with an IO on a customer behalf, for a fee. And this fee is shared between the Agent, and at a very high level at the IO, then further shared... And strangely, some of the Agents are able to conduct their business directly with the local IO, while others go through a remote IO, such as Nakhon Sawan. Now why is that, I have no idea. Appears like Agents must be 'accredited' for the use of such a service at a given IO. And those Agents who appear to not be able to be accredited locally here, are always able to find a remote IO that is willing to offer such a service to Agents. But the consequence of getting a 'retirement extension' from a remote location, would mean that the IO doing a 90 day for example, would be required to do that 'free' work, while knowing very well that a non-local IO got a share of the money for the initial 'extension' work. This of course would entail having to send the passport again and again through mail to obtain the 90 day stamps. Something that of course anyone would like to avoid. An IO can tell what process was originally used to obtain a service, through a quick glance at the passport. That is what they do for a living. A few seconds will do it... And to add to the complexity of this situation, once a foreigner has used an Agent, the IO will try as they can to keep this individual to keep on putting money in the system. Lots of money in there. Trying to do further 'retirement extensions' on your own, at the lower fee of course, will get you to be faced with all sorts of problems, being raised by the IO, to make the process as long and difficult as possible. With the aim of breaking you down and getting you back at an Agent's office, and paying the bigger fee. If one is intent on not paying for an Agent, make sure that your income taxes are in order in your country, make sure that your embassy will offer a service of confirming your income, and accept to be patient time and time again when you are told that "Oh, the for that you used is an out-dated one. Use this one, and come back some other day..... I was initially forced to go see an Agent, after the onset of the Covid era, with airport closed here, borders of neighboring countries closed, so not being able to leave the country to extend my OA visa, and not being able to stay in the country, as my visa would soon expire. 2019, 2020. When I explained that at the IO, I was told that there was nothing that they could do. The law was written this way. Then I was told in a whisper, go see an Agent, they will fix it up for you. And Agent, Oh yes."

Well perhaps, but not in Phuket town.... In Phuket town, it is not a fact.... But IO will do their best to make one go through an Agent, for known reasons....

Well, in so many instances, posts do not come across as 'ideas' and 'opinions', they look to me more as using vitriolic words and claiming that they are facts...

You are putting me in situation where I have to repeat myself: You are very uninformed. Not sure if it worth it provide the info that you are missing, and not sure if you are interested in finding out more about the subject.... The way people write show if they possess critical thinking or not. I think you know in which category you belong..

  7. For some reason, she wanted to show that she already had a boyfriend....
  8. A monk also. Reading between the lines... "Please do not rely on Buddha and luck, just not a reliable source for longevity".
  9. As long as she has motives to praise those similar sought services at home....
  10. Why discuss something that it appears we know nothing about......
  11. And which of the LGBTQ++++ is your preference...

  13. Agree, his inaptness is definitely underestimated....
  14. You must be a recent visitor in Thailand. So please seek help ASAP so you can get to understand posts about the culture in Thailand.
  15. Of course there are ads on Internet sites. I accept them as part of the territory. It is just that the ads in AseanNow, they seem to highjack the site, sometimes rendering impossible to posted subjects, as these ads get superimposed over the text. Sometimes I have to 'go back', or close the site and re-open it, so I can get access to subjects. Ads, they are a necessary evil on Internet, but on AseanNow, they are a nuisance because of how they take prevent users to navigate on the site....
  16. Not so. These emoticons, sad and confused, can in no way be interpreted as an opinion. There in no added value contained n those emoticons. The users of these 2 emoticons know that, and use them just as a game. So I say that these emoticons are stupid, and so would the users be. When I do not fully understand a poster, I might ask for some clarification, in order to gain more understanding. The idiots will never ask to get their confusion to be clarified, b e c a u s e do do not post these emoticons for that purpose. And that is why I see these emoticons as useless. Just like having keys on a keyboard that do nothing. Someone somewhere will suggest that it is stupid to kkep these keys, and perhapŝ, perhaps should be eliminated... And sadly, yes sadly , some members will post a 'confused' emoticon on this...
  17. Yo ezzra-tic, You obviously got riled up using a narrative that does not describe my words, intentions, or frame of mind. So you bring all sorts of BS that was not in my narrative, only in yours. An "innocent Thank you", where do you get that from. I never wrote that. So if you are not happy about me airing my thoughts, you can go, can go, oh dear, I just cannot find a polite way to air my thoughts about you in this instance. My apologies for my shortcomings here.... Happy New Year....
  18. Because as you rightly indicate, they are 'stupid'. Because there is a hope for additional information with the use of these emoticons. Support, and the absence of any emoticon, simply means that there the information provided did not seem to be helpful to other members. And we all know that the 'stupid' ones are used by people who actually just want to pollute the site, as they are never mean to provide any useful feedback. Notifications are used to indicate feedback on posts, and the pollution is mingled into these notifications. And these emoticons are allowed to be used again and again. Get rid of them....
  19. You seem to express your opinions, in kind of an hysterical way, while wanting to suppress other's opinions on this site. Covid, Gays, fascists, hangout for homosexuals, hehe. Wow. As if AseanNow is the major influence in this world on these subjects. Take what you feel is helpful, and disregard the rest. Like those stupid emoticons hehe. Readers have the right to read opinions, and make their own opinion from it, and al other sources. Some of the things you say, I agree with, particularly the 'ads', which are just pollution on the site, the way it takes over the screens. But then a genocide in Gaza, you must be very ill informed... And Trump, as if anyone could be worse than Biden.
  20. On second thought, these two emoticons could be useful after all. They could be used to identify the idiots who uses them, and slowly but surely, ban them from this site. Someone uses one, one Mod should be tasked to remove the idiot from the site. And then the site would be used typically by people with an IQ of more than 100. It is not their fault that they are not smart, but they should be made to show that they are idiots amongst themselves. Let's make AseanNow great again.... (smile)
  21. Well, as a start, they are the ones who permit idiots to post 'sad' or 'confused' emoticons, that means absolutely nothing, that contributes nothing to the site. These idiots should be banned from AseanNow, and these stupid emoticons, removed from the site. When, oh when will this happen???
  22. Seems strange to me that you come across as someone who just loves to complain and moan about Aseannow posters, posters who after all, are simply d e s c r i b i n g what the see, or saw, or lived, or experienced in this country. For eventually the benefit of readers, to add to contents on this site.
  23. Really. I was just thinking of how much moaning you can express on your posts.... Oh well, you could always follow your own advice...
  24. I remember someone posting a video of such a traffic light having been installed at a zebra crossing in Bangkok. Did not even slow down the traffic...
