  1. of course if you just ask they will not put oil.. many places have facilities where they wash your feet before and that can work for after...
  2. It seems you were quite obviously scammed - I hope you at least recover your investment. Sometimes letting go is good for your health if you can afford it - I would not pursue it too long or too directly... Who was your CM lawyer? I may need one soon for International advice in drawing up a Will...
  3. yes, but w/o an agent, you have to spend all that time beforehand filling out forms... yes, I know it is not that difficult and did it for 15 years before moving to CM where there are agents who do it for me. I appreciate the service - easy enough to do yourself if you prefer. Up to you. It is just a matter of how you want to spend your time. And I never have to worry if things are filled out properly or not. No stress.
  4. Not a wisp... mostly there is no fuss about it as we just converse normally... the few that might even note it are pleased.
  5. Wasn't that the game? If you work at trying to catch the money before it hits the ground, maybe you will get to the next level? Good for you w/your Thai language ability - always nice to hear that.
  6. quite busy, yes... just a note that 4 hours is far longer than I spend on my retirement visa - - with the use of an agent... yes, there is a fee but if time and ease and security matter, it is a breeze for a nominal fee...
  7. I think they come solely to annoy you... right?
  8. Yes - - just like the summer of love when we were, well at least I was,... you know - somehow this seems quite different...
  9. It ain't new... my step-grandfather wanted to sell devices that you could hang in a room to protect against nuclear attacks... guaranteed.
  10. The size doesn't matter much - - it is the underground aspect...
  11. That's the way of investments - always a reason to kick yourself... try and relax and enjoy the ones that go well..
  12. not a good gauge - - I owned a business and bought good used cars for myself saving a lot of money - my employees mostly had new cars... and lived in trailers.
  13. Don't be so sure - my father, who was average, not a great golfer would re-hash every stroke over dinner... even bad golfers can hit a drive out of sight... going going gone - and I think it makes them feel powerful and proud to hit a little ball so far... I would play with him once a year and found it boring in comparison to the team sports I played
  14. I don't think so - the closest I got was Kasikorn Bank has a program - and I wanted to have my niece investing but she is too young - I think 21 was the minimum age...
  15. I shook hands w/a neighbor today - his idea but he is a really nice guy... and he does not have a sweaty palm. I have been part of a close knit family for over 20 years... we see each other all the time - nobody wais - it is much less formal - the respect is assumed at this point... the young children will often wai but sometimes that takes a nudge from their mother. Many years ago I went to look at a piece of property - the owner was a Brit and was mowing his lawn - he was dripping with sweat... up and down his arms as well. It was my first time meeting him and I felt obliged when he reached out to shake my hand - - I took his hand - but it really was disgusting. Soaking wet w/his sweat. I don't think that is supposed to be a part of anyones tradition and culture...
  16. Yes - - only to avoid shaking hands - - a disgusting custom...
  17. 100% - absolutely so. And so easily done. Knowing when to Wai is not difficult nor is returning a wai, no matter who offers it to you... for me, being older than dust, it is mostly just a matter of returning a wai... What I don't like is shaking someone's germy hand as Westerners often do.. I understand that it is polite to cover your mouth when coughing, but then a few minutes later, shake someones hand?? Not for me.
  18. ummmm?? because they are habits and more so, addictions... you are the Nancy Reagan of nutrition...
  19. I used to get irony when I was younger... I still enjoy smiles and laughter... but that is mostly with Thai people.
  20. I tend to get lazy and sleep alot.
  21. Most people seek an elimination of nature in the house, not a balance...
  22. If a Thai inherits something through the family or gives gifts through the family, is there a tax? Thanks
