  2. sounds like my pretty petite wife
  3. Good mood, rich and can afford plenty of food.... big winner for a lady...
  4. Actually, I always found it funny that some farang claim that Thai are stupid, yet even uneducated farm girls seem to learn enough English to take care of their farang husbands who can speak no Thai...
  5. That should be the end of the conversation. Wherever you are from would you buy land that has no deed? I knew a guy who got a great deal on land that had no chanote. Very inexpensive - Until the real owner of the land came and threw him off.
  6. I found there was a big change when covid hit... much of my socializing went by the wayside... that precipitated a series of events that combined to make me much more of a homebody than ever before...
  7. I made a choice a few years ago - between spending my time in resorts on a monthly basis - going here and there... but buying a resort style property was the wiser idea. All the comforts of home - we have a village home as well but the family enjoys coming here for a few days at a time and we have good help - this was a great choice for us and we go into the city w/ease whenever we want...
  8. That is pretty much how I live - as Tripper says - I have a pool and land and gardeners and fresh organic fruits and veggies... and not too far out of town - great views - it is like living in a resort..
  9. This is what I have seen also - it used to be much more common but it is rare that I see something like this... The other day, a fellow tried to get served past me - and he was greeted and acknowledged, but the server continued with me before taking care of him... Many years ago in the countryside, a little old Chinese lady entered the bank with a sheepish meek grin and an apple for the teller, who took care of her first - the teller, somewhat embarrassed and knowing it was wrong, explained to me that she is pretty non-fuctional and has been doing it this way all her life... the tellers now seem quite aware of this type of thing.
  10. OR? - - if you could speak Thai?
  11. some people join groups, others don't - know matter what the qualifications... all my smartest freinds killed themselves.
  12. Were you forced to live there - - or your choice?
  13. Really? Google, contact, then interview... judge for yourself....
  14. Documents?
  15. It simply depends on whether or not the pills are legal in USA... I would guess that very few are - - they really don't like you buying any meds from other countries...
  16. or 'ooon' or 'ron' but 'wave' works perfectly well...
  17. There was a guy from my village who worked at a hotel in Pattaya for 30 years... he went there to earn a living - he was not a bargirl - - I expect there are many workers like him... maids etc.. I would gueess there are more people from elsewhere than from Pattaya,,,
  18. people move from their villages to work in Pattaya - they are happier in their village...
  19. Not that there is anything wrong with it... wasn't that the line from Seinfeld?
  20. Wasting money? I understand how you might feel that way. I lived in an outer province and did my own for 15 years. Sometimes, there were minor changes such as photo, or needing an extra copy of this or that.. nothing I couldn't do but required leaving Imm to find a copy place or whatever and adding a little extra time and paperwork. Now that I live where there are agents, I am so appreciative that they do all the paperwork and certainly properly, for me. I know everything will be done perfectly w/o my involvement or writing my address here and there 10x... My total involvement is signing the completed forms as a young lady flips the pages for me and then showing up at Imm where my agent has already cleared approval and all I have to do is smile and I get my passport back. All stress is removed. For me, the fee for this is nominal and meaningless. I won't have to skimp on any meals. ps - I choose not to change the oil on my car either. So, fr me and others, it is not wasting money but paying fro a service.
  21. except the people in the dog feed business...
  22. sounds like a good idea... take some time to get them acclimatized before they are ill... i am sure they will be best off near caring family members.
  23. Are you trying to say that you and I are different in some ways?
  24. I pay mine annually and I think they give me a discount for that... 3bb is used for my computer/internet use in the house... the telephone would not be a substitute for that...
