  1. Is the entire world heading for a financial crisis?
  2. Assuming people don't change, which I would imagine happens quite often when the 2 week millionaire runs low on funds.
  3. Is that in any way different than the entitlement in the West? I share a life with my wife - - sure, I make more money than she does and share it with her, though she has done quite well on her own. She has shared other things with me... not much different than. my previous wife in the West, though my wife here is nicer and appreciates it more.
  4. Wrong - or right? Maybe just a bit mean... if that is who you want to be...
  5. Exactly - when people tell me to drive safely, I request they tell that to everyone else...
  6. Nice waterfall is Nakhon Nayok... Singing Polly Polly Doodle all the day...
  7. Yeah, i think electric is probably 1500+ a month - And then you will have pump depreciation and unexpected issues pop up - - but all together, I figure 6,000 a month though weekly maintenance and cleaning is about 2,000 w/chemicals etc it runs about 4,000 and more sometimes as my pool guy does extras... That said, I love my pool and I am not a big swimmer - it is relaxing, meditative and good for some excercise as walking outside is hot and tiresome but I walk in the pool...
  8. Not able to speak the language, how much of exploring the culture can you do? How long did you try? What did it entail? Did you have a good teacher or none at all? Teacher, not in a formal sense, someone capable of explaining the differences. I was very lucky to have a couple of people in my life who had a good grasp of the language and culture and who were able to explain things that I would not otherwise have known. I was charmed and fascinated.
  9. They also have a serious side too which can be comforting, if they want to be that person for you... but mostly they figured out that whining is not the best way to go through life.
  10. Yes and it is the cultural immersion that is the fun part, for me. The sound of the language is not as important - being able to converse with the most unique and lovely Thai people is the goal. I learned through conversing as a child might. I have no idea what tone anything is and it doesn't seem to matter as because of the tones, the words sound different. And being able to speak in sentences helps a lot as there is context if I do mispronounce a word.
  11. yo. Warped Unhinged guy... 99% of the country is Nakhon Nowhere - - sure better than adult Disneyland for people who prefer the merry go round... I see you missed me during the shutdown...
  12. Heavenly Shades of night are falling It's twilight time.
  13. just add a couple of reps or whatever it is you like to do... I learned to love the Thai language and culture... you are missing out and rationalizing... but at least you are fit.
  14. What world do you live in where you think stores have to justify a price increase to you?
  15. It must be wonderful to be you...
  16. Did you include your address? We only had to leave notes on the refrigerator...
  17. why is that a battle? Your house. Your money. I can't imagine a builder having a problem with this.
  18. Yeah. He was a comedian not a bell ringer
  19. No I think he spends all day posting on forums
  20. What you seem incapable of understanding is that when you exaggerate your competence it is an insult to those who are actually competent for example when you were so excited that someone in a store understood your request for something. And then two weeks later claimed proficiency in Thai language. You insulted all the people who have spent years learning. or maybe you did not gain proficiency in two weeks and are just boasting a few words learned in your usual self aggrandizing style? that is an insult to others who actually can
  21. Rodney Dangerfield?
