  1. The concern for multiple ground stakes is not a huge issue, IMO. But, to avoid that one could install one stake and then make a ground bus around the structure which could then connect to outlets as required.
  2. Just silicone is my choice.
  3. Hitachi 250W is good for us (2 floors). Constant pressure pump.
  4. Most would go with 250W for 2 floors.
  5. That is why I made the comment - to the thought that switching the wires at the light would somehow fix the problem.
  6. What difference would that make if N instead of L is being switched?
  7. Light bulbs can blow for reasons unknown but probably related to quality of vendor. If you have jinky service, you might be best served with an AVR/AVS that fits your demand. i have two AVS from Global that I have been happy with.
  8. While not with the circular lamp, I have had similar problem with tube in aquarium when the switch gets rain on it (moisture inside) and with a bulb when it is near death.
  9. Why? Gas bottles don't really need waterproof.
  10. Are you concerned about the lights starting something on fire? From your description, I don't see what that would be. I'm pretty sure you are OK as is.
  11. I use this one for my outdoor lights. Currently have 3 and work flawlessly. The one caveat is that neutral is required. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i201908555-s303700159.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1 Wall attachment can use holder for screw.
  12. Can you say what the claim was for and what reason was given to deny payment?
  13. C'mon. Not "every Thai spark" believes that. The sparks that come from homes built out of wood and on wood poles are correct. No need ground.
  14. Wiring my Thai house to the US NEC would be a supercilious attempt to prove that everything American must be the best. Hey, I know some folks that actually believe that. The one thing I don't personally agree with is main RCBO when there is proper earth distribution. The NEC calls for RCD protection in bath areas and outside outlets which makes sense to me - everywhere else... aagh.
  15. A flame post has been removed and not appreciated here.
  16. RCD devices measure current between L and N. Earth is desired but not necessary for the device to function properly.
  17. I don't know where you are getting your information from, but it is incorrect. BTW, a main breaker is double pole.
  18. Not so, in Thailand anyway. Outside of Safe-T-Cut which has selectable from 5-30mA, all double and single pole RCBO that I have seen are set to 30mA.
  19. You don't say why you requested the quote but from your topic I'm guessing you had a direct strike and got "destroyed". (?) Surge suppression can be very expensive and IMO not worth it. A direct strike will take out everything and anything - there is no protection. Indirect surges can be protected but I'm not willing to take that insurance. In any case, the quote seems a bit on the high side but that's typical of Phuket.
  20. What would I need to learn? Reports say that exports have declined 10% or so during Covid. Tourism has virtually disappeared. Expat income has remained pretty much unchanged. I just think that we should get more respect when it comes to taxing things we like to buy, dual pricing at hospitals and others, 90 day reports, having to pay for things that should be free, and constantly getting screwed down to bleed more.
  21. Dunno. Are you disputing my premise that expats are important to the Thai economy?
  22. Inspections vary by PEA. Other than verifying cable size from meter to CU (sometimes), I have never heard of any further inspection around here (Amphoe Ban Dung, UT).
  23. ?? Cable used is 2.5mm2. 20A breaker protects. Could go lower, but why?
