I have zero interest in what others might think, unless it's someone I'm talking to or someone I know, total strangers are of no concern. .

Monitoring stations or websites? Can depend on whether the figure is a 24hr average or a live reading. Also varies on how the AQI is calculates, is it just on the PM2.5 reading or does it calculate a weighted figure based on several pollutants; commonly PM2.5, PM10, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and ground level ozone. Then there's the location of the station to consider, is it street level or on the top of a building for example. Many variables.

+1 for 19 Crimes, either the Red Blend or the Shiraz. Available Big-C, Tops, Villa Market and no doubt a few more. If you have a Wine Connection in your area then they have a good selection of wines at reasonable (for Thailand) prices.

Similar problem here during the wet season. We've managed to shut off access in most places, but we've a couple of spots they always seem to find a way in. Mothballs have some effect, we tried traps but handling and disposing is an issue, best we found, but brutal, was to drop the trap into a large bucket of water and leave for 20 minutes. Glue traps laced with food and poison pellets is the preferred method, also brutal but more hands off. It's a problem that always seems to return, regardless what you do.

Address Reporting Surprise!
Stocky replied to whophant's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
When I pointed the above out to immigration in Hat Yai earlier this year, when my paperwork for extension renewal was initially rejected over an out of date TM30 (I'd been to Bangkok), I was told "that is Bangkok, this is Songkhla". The OP needs to bite the bullet and make the trip to Chiang Mai. -
You're wrong, it's financial profiling, nothing to do with race.

No, it says your trip must be within 3 days of submission. When I went through KLIA2 in July there were plenty of people being helped to complete the online registration in an area ahead of the immigration desks. So it appears you can submit a MDAC right up to the point of arrival. The other post above says the same.

I printed out the completed form but it wasn't asked for, it obviously comes up on screen when the IO scans your passport

Had to do this for the first time on my last trip to KL in July. All very easy, just complete the details a couple days before arrival. Similar to the Singapore digital arrival card.

A valid point that most westerners fail to grasp, tourism in southern Thailand is not about westerners, but visitors from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia who have a better grasp of the realities and dangers. That said whilst Malaysians do indeed love Songkhla, they're not going to detour 150km via Phatthalung to use this bridge!

It doesn't go to Songkhla Town, rather the bridge connects to the spit of land north of Meung Songkhla and the districts of Ranot, Sathing Phra and Singha Nakhorn, the last contains the Songkhla deep sea port. The spit of land is separated from Songkhla Town by the channel that empties Lake Songkhla, there's a car ferry connecting the two. The new bridge is primarily intended for goods traffic to the port.
