  1. Popped in to do my 90 day report and noticed that they do have a tent again, this time outside the old Immigration Office (the building to the right), but it appears to be where they make the poor Burmese labourers wait when attending immigration. I went into the main office and was out again in ten minutes just a handful of people in there.
  2. I registered for Wise from Thailand, whilst I can send money to Wise from my accounts in Singapore and the UK I can't send from my accounts in Thailand. It is something they say they are working on, as is a debit card for Thai customers, but I'm not holding my breath.
  3. American $2,887 ÷ 15 = $192.47 European $2,684 ÷ 13 = $206.46 On a per day basis Europeans actually outspend Americans.
  4. Nope, but I'm not American. I usually leave any shrapnel when I check out, but nothing more.
  5. It's actually considerably more coherent that most speeches by politicians.
  6. You're correct, I should have opted for a PC on the first place.
  7. The problem I have/had with android boxes is you don't usually get any software updates for the OS and you certainly won't get any upgrade to the next android version. After going through about 4 boxes in 6 years I switched to a mini-PC running Windows some 4.5 years ago. In the long run it's cheaper than buying a succession of android boxes, and I can do more with it. Importantly I have a faster processor, more memory and greater storage. .
  8. I have an Asus Mini PC running Win10 hooked up to the TV, but use a keyboard rather than remote, keyboard is just so much easier. The Intel NUC mini PCs are another option to consider. You specify computer, so presume you aren't talking about Android boxes.
  9. Hat Yai is fine, AQI 41 (10µg/m3), Songkhla is even better at around AQI 13.
  10. I was thinking "Yu-ve" sounds a little like "Hey-You" they use the same term in Togo as well. I was working on a gold exploration project near Tarkwa. The kids would follow me around chanting a little song which I was assured meant "white man, white man give me a penny" but may well have meant something less kind. I enjoyed my time in Ghana, hard working good people.
  11. Eastern Ghana that would be "Yevu" they were calling - white man. In western Ghana it's usually "Oburoni" or "Broni" - foreigner . I spent three years in Takoradi.
  12. Sure, we've an AQI of 40 in Hat Yai today, but that's because it's been raining; very unseasonal weather for February.
  13. Yes, you would think he's far too savvy not to have 'insurance' in case of sudden demise .
  14. I only have one
  15. Find him a nice ladyboy
  16. I think you'll find the majority of XE’s payments are settled locally, so no charge is applied, just like Wise. Whilst XE doesn't charge a fee as Wise does, rather it takes a variable percentage cut from the exchange rate. So for me it is less transparent in its dealings than Wise.
  17. I have no idea what's possible these days, I opened my HSBC Singapore account 20 years ago.
  18. I send money from accounts in both Singapore and the UK. Currently XE isn't available for transfers from Singapore, whilst from the UK, as noted above, XE's rates are only better than Wise for amounts of GBP1,200 and below. For me Wise is just the best and easiest solution, though I do keep an eye on both XE and OFX. .
  19. I transferred my Krungsri KMA app to the new phone without issue; though I'd only changed the phone, not the SIM and number.
  20. I need to go to the loo
  21. You really do need to supply a lot more information than that if you expect anything other than a derisory response.
