All I can contribute: I left for a border hop after 10 years of retirement extension on Non O-A in July 22 at >Nong Khai<. In a way they didn't want to let me leave without a re-entry permit thinking I was a bit "uninformed". Cost me some explanation that I DO want to leave without and that's it. No mention of 5 year or other nonsense.

Nonsense TM86 and finances in order and you are set. I killed my Non O-A in July 22 by entering visa exempt. Then single Non O retirement at KK immigration followed by one year extension later on.

It seems that bankbook(!) (statement?) has to be updated same day at about every office. Last time in KK they let me off the hook with a reminder (fixed deposit showing increasing amount since years, but yes update from same day ). Letter from the bank was from the day before and declared OK.

Unnoticed to me they changed their arithmetic For the occasion I connected my age old 5" external disk and checked some report documents. E.g. 5 February 2016 to 4 May 2016. That's +89 days (due date is day 90), same as stamps at the border. Last two documents show they have changed to +90 days (due date being day 91).
