  1. All exchange facilities within the premises of the airport (AOT controlled) are hefty rip offs and have exact same rates (booths/banks no matter) between 7 to 10 percent worse than in town. On the basement of Suvarnabhumi there is the connecting passage to the railway link. This area does not belong to AOT and there you find good rates at a couple of exchange booths (two or more, don't know what is left after COVID). Worth the walk depending on the amount to change. I would never change more at the airport than needed for the first few hours (transport to city etc.).
  2. Just look for the "No sex" sign at the entrance
  3. Just the other way round. 1625W would be about 7.4A. Do not try 220V/24A (~5300W) on such a cord except you have a fire extinguisher at hand.
  4. Yes and seems they start today. Flight from CNX should touchdown soon: Arrived 14:05
  5. All motorbikes (even a 110 cc) need the compulsory insurance. But coverage and price are a joke. I assume your thread would get more attention in the motor forum?
  6. At Nong Khai/Vientiane (July 17) I turned back about 2 hours later (finally studying silly prices at some fancy duty free shop ).
  7. Yes but seemingly within a Buddhist temple. I am not an expert but those religions mix quite liberally here.
  8. I am fighting hard to find an English language source. https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/พระพิฆเนศวัดบางชัน Google translation would be "Phra Phichit", Bang Chan Temple, Bangkok As is easy seen it's a Ganesha shrine. The temple is officially named "Wat Rat Satthatham (Bangchan)". See here: https://goo.gl/maps/pEQ3D198gzyAT79K9
  9. A popular misunderstanding. The 60 days include the day of arrival and the day of exit. That ends with 29th October. Applies to all immigration arithmetic (15, 30, 45, 60, 90 day visas/reports etc.). Lets make it easy with a "5 day visa": Aug 31, Sep 1, 2, 3, 4 Sep 5 would be the 6th day.
  10. Putin expressed his condolence to the family. Almost lowest possible level before swearing at the deceased.
  11. Pictures from August 2020 in Pattaya.
  12. If they really want they can clean up unused lines. Watched this myself in Pattaya. Piles of cut down fiber cables on the street and a huge pile at some shophouse (maybe a scrap business).
  13. Unlikely much copper. Mostly fiberglass cable enforced with steel wire(s) and plastic coating. Not sure how easy it is to make money from them. Good question. Too lazy, no responsible party, not paying off (it's mostly private companies)? In parts of cities there have been some cleanup campaigns over the years. And of course is by no way Phuket specific.
  14. Most of Isan in the 1200 to 1500 mm range. That's exceptional before peak rain season even started. And we experience it. Fortunately no flood problem in our area. Many parts of Germany are in the 500 mm range for the WHOLE year. (and drought this year)
  15. http://www.arcims.tmd.go.th/dailydata/yearRain.php One diagram showing deviation from long year normal: Total until 30 August:
  16. Thanks for the warning. Just confirms to stay with ThaiSmile for me. And don't be fooled by lower "starting at" prices by other LCC.
  17. So I am not alone with this observation. Obviously a big cleanup.
  18. Villa, BigC, TOPS at Central and Cheese2MeatYou
  19. The usual game: he is 59 years old and so will serve for just one year! His nickname is "den" (เด่น), the outstanding/excellent (from khaosod.co.th)
  20. Let the know betters learn by trying. Not worth arguing.
  21. I assume you have Windows running? What happens if you press <Alt>+<Shift>? Does it show a "popup" for language setting? Is there a language indicator on the right side of the task bar?
  22. Drive to the nearest inspection shop and let them handle to whole stuff (test, PRB, tax payment/sticker). No riding around for insurance and DLT for tax/sticker. You can use a taxi to pick up the paperwork, blue book and sticker at the test station if you want to minimize any risk. Usually next day.
  23. Can't judge about Bangkok but in Pattaya BOLT is the app to use. And who depends on credit cards to pay xxx Baht for a taxi.
