  1. You mean how early before due date? As far as I remember you can do the yearly paperwork/inspection up to 30 days ahead. Sure more than 7 days. Would have to check back. Or do you mean how long the inspection certificate is valid?
  2. Quite certain I had seen such clause like "no further than 50 km" in a standard rental contract.

    MOT - PATTAYA

No. Age is determined by the date that the car has been registered as seen in the blue reg. book. If your car has been registered in 2015 (2558) it's due for inspection.

If the car is less than 7 years old. Otherwise inspection needed.

That's a map car inspection workshops in Pattaya. There is one shown in South Pattaya Rd Soi 4.

The responsible organization calls itself in English: Department of Land Transport (DLT). Its a department of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) which oversees all transport except aviation.

Why all the fuss about driving to the DLT (hw 36)? Take car to next inspection workshop (yellow cogwheel). Hand them the car registration book and let them take care for inspection, mandatory insurance and tax. Drive away after inspection on the spot. Pick up documents/sticker next day. At least one inspection shop at a Soi off south Pattaya rd. Would have to check for exact location. If overdue more than three years there is lot more to do.
  9. Price may fit but heavy booked. Not sure whether all rooms/buildings are open.
  10. Last came back November 14th. All major businesses open and many in good swing. Barfine 1500 to 2000 to just give you an idea. One mate did extensive Gogo tours on WS. Not for me. I visited two Gogo places on LK and Treetown. One being a complete joke. More eye candy on the road. Was in Pattaya in 2020 and 2021 four or five times (lost track) and experienced the darkest times but also coming back to life on new year 21/22. Gogos closed then but not much of interest for me anyway.
  11. An hour before should suffice. Have to correct myself. Of course better earlier at the bus station. I hesitate to answer on the route change. I am not so familiar with Loei and surroundings. I would go conservative and start from bus station in Loei (where you can see all options available) Indeed it would be a good idea if you can leave the bus before going into the city. It will likely go on #210/216 to the ring road. And from there it's a short hop to the airport. (that's an area that I know quite good)
  12. Why focus on walking? The Baht bus circle on Beach rd and 2nd rd works fine. Gogo bars that earn the name are on Walking Street. Other locations (LK, Treetown) can't keep up. 2000 Baht/night? So many options along Beach rd. E.g. Soi 10: "The Stay Hotel", "Sea Me Spring Tree Hotel". A mate was quite enthusiastic about the "Bayview Hotel" near Soi 10 between Beach and 2nd rd. Stay away from Soi 8 regarding hotel. But really too many options...
  13. There should also be minibuses (vans) on this route. But can't find reliable info.
  14. Although it's difficult to find something reliable, not even think about English language: one thing for sure, it's a very busy/frequent route. I append one schedule from the website: https://gotoloei.com These buses are surprisingly slow. Shortest route would be a 150 km. And the schedule says 3 to 4 hours(!) travel time. Maybe due to the "hilly" route from Nong Bua Lamphu. So to be very sure you have to take the 13:00 or 13:40 bus. Your flight goes 19:25. So being at bus station at 18:00 is quite conservative. You won't have a problem wasting some time in Udon.
  15. Good investment she did. Same for her nose.
  16. If the friend wants to stay for 2 months it's a an option to think about.
  17. Seems you refer to a foreign credit/debit card. Often the card issuing bank limits withdrawals and imposes it's own fees. For the rest see post above.
  18. Some people want to plan their day and not waste time in overcrowded ships and being pushed around by the hordes. If it's just try and error you don't need a forum/reports. I can't contribute from experience but from what vloggers etc. report. Don't expect it to be quiet at the weekends. During the week it seems bearable.
  19. Thai banks don't use IBAN. IBAN coverage is quite limited on global scale. A bank that can't do a SWIFT transfer? (BIC/SWIFT) Bad luck or incompetent.
  20. And why bother about anything else but "Funds for long term stay..."? Doesn't cost extra, doesn't hurt and is correct. The worst that can happen: transfer arrives next day.
  21. Like many poor in the village.
  22. As above, discount 105.85. After discount ends: 373.56 + 38.22 + 107.44 = 518.66 7% = 36.31 Total 554.97 4.82 Baht/kWh 115 units is within the first section (up to 150). So exceptionally low.
  23. The only reason for such low rates might be the subsidies (which we don't get). Otherwise 5 Baht or more.
