Going to Koh Chang- covid test or vaccination certificate required?
KhunBENQ replied to eddysacc's topic in Eastern Thailand
Tests for domestic travel (to Koh Chang)?? That would have made news over the last long weekends with the masses. Can't remember any mention from the last months and that applies to all domestic destinations incl. Ko Samui and Phuket (which were the last to abolish). Vaccination certificate? Hotels can make up their own rules, Maybe ask ahead. And both websites linked above say that there are no more tests. Just read in "306 thoughts on “Koh Chang Ferry” from the ferry site: https://kohchangferries.com/ -
Not giving a rough idea what the problems are? Such a general question might require a certified specialist or just an experienced user.

Booking online and paying "personally" at "their office"? You really believe that there is a Skyscanner "office" in Edinburgh where you can go and pay???? Sorry but you have a long way to go until doing an online booking. Online booking is at >your desk< and usually requires some credit/debit card. (other non cash payment forms maybe available depending on country) Best look for a good old travel agency in your area.

I have seen this interview in the morning. Unbelievable how this liar can keep a straight face. But after the nagging questions about the cruelties seen in Ukraine he got somewhat excited.

Public Urged to Get Booster Shots Against Covid-19
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Royal Garden, 15 June to 31 July. every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 11:00 to 15:00. (errors excepted) All stuff available. What is Covovax? No Moderna. Walk in, no appointment needed. First day was so quiet they are sitting and waiting for customers. Source is in German, poster in Thai language (organized by the P. city hospital) I would have to chance to go there end of June but I also got enough after three shots. -
More than I expected. Whole country green zone. Stop the crazy color codes. Let's hope some easing of mask rules will follow. Is it too much to expect some common sense like no masks in open space or riding bike? Don't expect that mask in shops/malls will fall soon. Did they wear masks at the full moon party? Suggest to watch some videos about the reality in Pattaya, Khao San rd. etc. A mate comes from Germany on June 25. Of course with Thai pass/insurance. Have just sent him the good news (not for him)

KhunBENQ replied to Bangkok Barry's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Did you try at other banks (Krungsri, KBank, SCB, ....)? Does it show the Mastercard logo? -
KrungThai Bank ATM access

I tried to understand what is written in Thai language about this ID Confirm. Didn't really get it but obviously not relevant for the average expat (50/50 Health Scheme? Some Wallet function?). -
KrungThai Bank ATM access
KhunBENQ replied to Bangkok Barry's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
No. Just coming back from town. Used a KTB ATM with the "ID Confirm" sticker with my Bangkok Bank card (Mastercard Debit). Usual procedure on touchscreen. Got spit out 20k and new balance on my Bangkok Bank account displayed. And that's about all I can do on this foreign ATM. -
A new 90 day requirement?
KhunBENQ replied to Bangkok Barry's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes. More than a decade. I have filled a lot during the first years. Seasoned members will know how many decades it exists. It's just that the need for filling the form has vanished at many offices. Online reporting fortunately working for me. -
Haven't read all posts. Just describing my boring repeating procedure. Send 2000 Euro (70k+) from my WISE account to Bangkok Bank Purpose expense for long term stay I start the procedure after 10 AM after watching rate regularly. Next workday morning I get the "has been sent", will be credited14:xx hours (to the minute). Never had a delay/surprise. If I start before 10 AM it might happen that the amount is credited same day. But I want to have the time slot to be able to cancel if the rate "rockets"

Show this to a Thai person? Are you serious? 21 minutes for that? My lifetime is shortening -
It's not possible to the post office because most if not all sellers will use courier services (Kerry, Flash Express, J&T Express) which do not deliver to post office. So if the dealer does not offer EMS shipment it will not work. I know from experience because long ago I had a shipment to post office which worked at the time. Some two/three years later I tried again at the same company and they called back to get my home address after switchnig to a courier service. BUT: as far as I know the courier have their own system of storing for pickup at their distribution points. Can't help how to handle/arrange such a self pickup.

Gasp…! Is this abnormal heat for this time of year….?
KhunBENQ replied to mikey88's topic in Chiang Mai
Correct. Here April/Songkran was extremely cool. Must have been some decade old record lows. Even the elder could not remember such low temperatures at this month. It then continued with quite early and significant rain. Most of May was much less hot than the terrible dry years (2014 e.g.). Just in the last two weeks somewhat normal heat has developed. Three ACs running at the moment. Temperatures below 36 C (97 F) are not "very hot" for me. At 38 to 39 the suffering starts. Max over the years here about 42. -
They say it's fixed now. Many threads.

DLT asks for nothing but the "blue book" (and test certificate for car older than 7 years). Who you are, where you live is absolutely irrelevant.
