K bank E-mail with Tax Forms attached ?
KhunBENQ replied to offset's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
That's a plausible advice. Also what is a "true certified copy of passport" via email? But I will try what others did: getting a TIN at the revenue department. I already had an interest tax refund in 2013 but not sure whether I have a valid TIN. -

K bank E-mail with Tax Forms attached ?

Not the slightest indication of a scam. And the attached forms are no joke believe me! Title of the forms: 1.1 FATCA-CRS FORM_INDIVIDUAL.pdf 1.2 Form W-9.pdf 1.3 Form W-8BEN.pdf It will be interesting to learn whether all Kbank customer get this or only "very old" customers. Account opened in 2009. Can't remember whether I had to sign the usual "non US" confirmation" which was part of account opening at Bangkok Bank and SCB. -

Got it 20:04 (8:04 PM). And it's obviously not a scam. Tax topics come close. What a time to send such email. They want to spoil my weekend. -
Elderly couple gets 500 baht electricity bill for a single fan - video
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Always been billed with the 1.2 rate. And that has steps of 1 to 150, 151 to 400, above 401 kWh. Average price overall is about 4.6 Baht/kWh (using near 400 kWh). 500 Baht would be roughly 100 kWh or 100'000 Wh. A fan typically is 50 W. 100'000/50 = 2000 hours running fan would equate to 2000/30 = 66 hours/day -

Yes from my observation. Neighbor opposite having a 85 Baht bill which is much less than 50 units. Our abandoned ex shophouse with fridge and occasional fan/radio use produces 1xx Baht bills. Never seen before. -
Intoxicated tourist detained after Pattaya restaurant altercation

Zinc, Magnesium glycinate(!) and Calcium seem to be little disputed. Take them since long. Saw palmetto (and related stuff)? Taken for years did not save me from prostate surgery. Out of curiosity I try this Tongkat Ali for a while. Maybe it has at least a good placebo effect 😁 As it origins from the region I feel tempted to buy locally. Did you know that watermelon has a high content of Citruline? Almost daily for me. There are countless channels on YouTube that deal with mens supplements. A surprising advice I got: don't use antibacterial mouthwash! The bacteria in mouth and sinuses are important for building nitric oxide (NO).

Pattaya, ground floor condo, valuables. How can one live without a half decent safe under these circumstances? Before the usual discussion breaks loose: yes such a safe won't withstand "professionals" but such a teen boy. Pratamnak Soi 5 is obviously a good choice for a burglar. But was it simple luck that he made such a large catch? Or got some "hint"?

An inconvenient site of MC: https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/personal/get-support/convert-currency.html For the case that your home country bank does not add a fee, it would give 34.42 for US Dollar. But be aware about the Thai bank adding a fixed fee of 220(?) Baht for each withdrawal. So you never reach the above number in total. Just for reference the currency market rate at this moment is: 34.66.

Thumbs up. The first meaningful answer. Rates for foreign cards are usually set by the cc companies (VISA, Mastercard...) or issuing banks. Nothing to do with the rates that you check at the Thai bank. It's very long that I used a VISA card for cash withdrawal. At that time VISA changed the rate only once per day and that was at 11 AM Thai time (some time in a US? timezone). It has been written in age old threads. Too lazy to dig for it and show the links of the card organizations with the rates.

How to renew your road tax in Thailand
KhunBENQ replied to CharlieH's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I drive the vehicle to the testing station. Present the registration book (blue or green). Absolutely the only document I need. Tell them to take care for the whole thing. When testing completed I pay the tax and compulsory insurance. Can drive away and come back an hour later or so and pick up updated book and sticker. -
Won't be an easy task and risk very bad rates. TT exchange has it on the list. But 10000 THB would buy you 4255 ZAR (main branch). The currency market rate (for reference only!) is 5211 for 10k. Rates in Bangkok are better (VASU e.g.). I think you would be better off with THB - USD and changing USD in South Africa? Banks in Pattaya? Doubt it and rates even worse if any.

No lack of idiots. Pull back sugarcane, pulling the tail(!). Another example for a lack of education. Dealing with animals. -
Should I Tell My Friend That His Girlfriend Is Trans?
KhunBENQ replied to JK-Trilly's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Even a post op kathoey can be identified if you have the slightest idea of female anatomy. Don't you think so? Requires some inspection of course and not fiddling in the dark 🤣 Using the right moment to peek into the ID card is another option. So it's hard to believe the whole story. -
My EUR/THB to Bangkok Bank always took one working day (for long term stay ...) since years. Recently tried Kasikorn (general expense) and it took seconds. Fortunately for me no reason to get excited. As my BKB account is at the local branch and Kbank in Pattaya I will continue monthly transfers to BKB.

To all: Take a magnifying glass and check where your charger has been made. If not in China please report. It's more about the brand behind and how they practice quality assurance. Still major parts of the most expensive fruity smartphones are made in both of the Chinas. I suspect that details are missing. If the charger had a short circuit there would be smell and visible damage even burn marks. What I assume as in other cases of the past: faulty extension cable/plugs lying on the bed. Charging in bed if ever: only with power bank!

KO tragedy: British boxing hopeful’s final round in Pattaya hotel
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
"swanky" "lavish" "resort" It's hard to digest this nonsense. During high times it was a 90% Chinese tour group hotel. Stinky buses with running motor on the parking space. Endless whistle blowing braindead guards. Once was unlucky to have a balcony facing this place.
