  1. I checked conditions on their website and if that is all incl then I would get about 500 Baht more on a 2000 EUR transfer. (pay via online banking, transfer to bank account). Time to give it a try ?
  2. Will ETA improve the situation? Assuming they entered visa exempt. Having granted them a visa would be even a bigger joke.
  3. And as I wrote above: think twice why you would need it.
  4. The post describes two events. Can't remember the first one. The second one quite recently was by Prawit the "watch man", "watch collector".
  5. It took me a while to get behind this gesture. It's all over "social media". I was puzzled because rubbing thumb and index finger means "money", "where is the money" in my culture. They are fighting so hard to find a new reason to overthrow the unwanted. What a country!
  6. Wonder why anyone goes for the Non O-A at all. Particularly if you have a regular (pension) income (>65k Baht) that you can transfer month by month. I think it's for those without regular income and not wanting to transfer and freeze 800k Baht? But adding the health insurance obligation! I am happy to have unloaded that status by a border run in 2022. Otherwise I searched misc sources and all unchanged in Thai Baht numbers, 65'000/800'000. For Germany I could not find the numbers in Euro (just pointing to some MFA powerpoint).
  7. Just seen the word "cheap" in the opening post
  8. Result of that simple automated test: (and during the test I was using the internet as usaul, TV streaming, youtube etc.)
  9. Can't help with these times. I usually don't experience specific outages (3bb). I searched a bit and saw that testmy.net has an automatic cyclic test. Test on desktop PC: https://testmy.net/auto Have it running in the afternoon let's say from 2 PM to 6 PM every 10 min or so. Just an idea. Never tried on my own. Just started a short cycle of 5 tests. Tests goes to Tokyo without asking (424 in first test). Bet you can setup for your preferred route. Be aware that much of the content does not come from where you might think but through content providers somewhere. If you use Google most stuff might come from Hong Kong or somewhere else in the region.
  10. Just out of curiosity. "Sombat Tours" indeed offers a Phuket <> Khon Kaen bus. Scheduled travel time 20 hours and 50 minutes.
  11. No need to argue with characters like you. And off the list. Bye.
  12. Not sure... About 21h trip on the bus. What a joyride. She didn't make it far. Happened in Phak Chong district in neighboring Korat province (N.R.)
  13. Use such silly "gas" comparison in Germany and they would all jump on you.
  14. "Eyewitnesses reported that they saw the foreigner driving at high speed from South Pattaya Road" ... to Chaiyapruek? Did they follow him all the way from there?
  15. Khon Kaen fortunately and not Jomtien or Bangkok. And as you can read above it's ok with bank statements in official form/print. I have decided to change to Kasikorn after the extension for their much easier handling of the statements. With them I will be able to do all necessary bank paperwork in the morning (same day) before driving to immigration.
  16. https://thethaiger.com/visas/destination-thailand/?utm_source=ANforum&utm_medium=ANforum&utm_campaign=Thaiger-DTV-AN
  17. It's the DTV guide from the forum. I see it at the bottom of the page. But if you have confirmed all Ok.
  18. From the DTV guide linked below ("announcements"): "It’s expected that you’ll apply for the DTV visa at a Thai embassy or consulate in your home country. " That's in line with what I understood.
  19. Two years and now someone snitched him. This business exists for decades. As long as you fly under the radar/low profile how can they catch you? I remember a German guy in Bangkok. As long as they have no better than some Thai guides in bloken inglit there will be demand.
  20. Deleted. No chance to Google for a street address? Thin ice 🤣
  21. 116 billion Pocket money Incl. gold: China 3.5 trillion (Hong Kong another 425 billion) Japan 1.2 trillion Switzerland 795 billion ... Thailand 230 billion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_foreign-exchange_reserves
  22. Of course it can happen any other day. We are at the beginning of rainy season. Watch forecast carefully. This radar gives you some idea what's going on. https://weather.tmd.go.th/skm240HQLoop.php Currently looks dry.
  23. Even though the current rate is terrible I could not resist to test. Sent 100 EUR for general living expense. Arrives in seconds and the transaction history clearly shows it as "Trade Finance Deposit" or more clearly when you use the site in Thai as "ธุรกรรมต่างประเทศ" (business transaction foreign country/abroad")
  24. Be aware that "VISA" stands for Non-O visa or one year extension. Officially not possible to get a license with short term visa/exempt.
