  1. Became prominent for a day. Made it to international tabloids at least UK and Germany. German article didn't mention it was in Pattaya, just Thailand. I hope he leaves no dependents behind.
  2. In Thailand you don't need an EV to have a car on fire 😁Irregular/botched service/repair is enough. And yes, it happens in other countries too.
  3. The new husband IS the prime suspect according to the police. Has a mia noi/gik. Wife still not found. (news from the breakfast table). Wait for more.
  4. Yes. But no one (if not overlooked) cares to say that it happened on Sukhumvit road northbound and to me it looks like the crash was on the inner lane?! Kids changed lane? Maybe to the right as you are forced to do to reach a U-turn or turn right. Driving on this race track with a small bike is a problem from the start. When in Pattaya I avoid it whenever possible. Did Igor go fast on the inner lane?
  5. The health certificate is valid for a month. So a good idea to do it in advance. They officially promise on their site that walk-in is possible for DL extension at all offices. "officially" In all cases do the e-learning beforehand and have the QR code. I think walk-in without might be denied. Our office does not even participate in the SmartQueue procedure. I have registered just to find out.
  6. "banks" ?? Again confusing. SCB has closed website banking (from PC). Other banks still offer. If that is what you mean?
  7. Yes screenshots are blocked. But completely unrelated to payment done or not. You have internet banking and can not find out whether a payment was made??
  8. Not necessarily. "Yellow book". Registered having non Thai ID. Frequently discussed. Some get it easy. Varies from amphoe to amphoe (district office). Others are harrased with required documents.
  9. It needs to be changed. I learned it. Recently I drove to district town with the 11 year old Click to have yearly inspection done. After a few kms I see a red warning light. Never seen before on any scooter. Overheated. Slowly back to village mechanic and having exchanged coolant. Probably not been done ever since.
  10. Indeed. The DLT offices seem to have a wide variation of what is accepted as proof of address. Also immigration offices may or may not be willing to supply a res.cert. free or for a "fee". Instant or waiting for weeks(!?). I read here that someone needed a letter from the DLT that a res.cert. is needed and show at immigration If you live in a "foreigner experienced" location the dealer might be able to tell what's needed. Buying a car in my name some 11 years ago as a newbie/fresh arrived was quite a hassle with help of blue book from wife and copy of marriage certificate!! But for buying a small motorbike some 6 years ago the yellow book/pink card was sufficient (which I than had). Our DLT is OK with that also for license extension etc. Pattaya/Chonburi: no way.
  11. Did some sniffing. Downloaded this "MEmu-setup-abroad-sdk-mv.exe". VirusTotal online showed 16 of 68 scanners having suspicion, But none of the major virus scanners has any detection. The MEmu-setup-abroad-sdk-mv.exe is a self extracting file. I used 7zip to manually extract. This also shows no suspicious content. Basically the whole thing will install an Android emulator and I guess afterwards you will be able to run the MyAIS on the PC(?). https://www.file.net/process/memuservice.exe.html Vague suspicion but no clear "dangerous" verdict. I wouldn't install. What for?
  12. Unlikely to help if related to IP address. As @Crossy writes some IPs might be on a blacklist. In this case more promising: power cycle the router or use a VPN.
  13. Maybe you should have seen the complete "Global Peace Index" and realize that they rank the USA lower than Thailand. And as you compare Thailand as a whole with crime plagued cities your statement becomes even bigger nonsense. And of course they disclaim that a country index can still mean that there are unsafe locations/cities within the countries. Compare a country with a city does not make sense. And yes, Nutbush city maybe safer than Pattaya. I would still walk any street in Bangkok with less concern compared to any street in New York, LA, SF etc. Up here in the village I can walk the dog and leave the door unlocked. https://www.visionofhumanity.org/maps/#/
  14. Interesting read compared to what the DLT promises for all offices: easy walk-in for such services like DL extensions 5yr/5yr What I expect to do here: in March one day after birthday motorbike ride to office with passport, medical cert, car DL, yellow book/pink card and e-learning QR. Should be out before noon.
  15. For Lazada I recommend to login using the mobile phone number. As far as I remember you can also unlock via mobile.
  16. Not much to add about CAPTCHAs. Except that Lazada is most annoying about this. Even when using from my home 3BB I randomly get "suspicious traffic". BS. Some overseas sites won't allow Thai IP without CAPTCHA or not allow at all like Home Depot, USA. https://www.homedepot.com/
  17. You never had phone or internet banking and you or your account has been "hacked"??
  18. Totally confusing post. The OP does not deal with Thai citizens at all. So what does the second paragraph have to do with Thai citizens? They show their Thai ID card (or passport) and that's it? It's worth mentioning that this has been discussed in a news thread already. Not sure why this has to be started again in a Chiang Mai thread?
