Wise Transfers- Caution - Fees
KhunBENQ replied to Raindancer's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Stand corrected. On the website they show two different options while in the app there is only the "cheap" option. I did never care because money doesn't arrive in seconds. Can be next working day. Reason likely the reason for transfer selected (long stay in Thailand). Also I don't see the credit card option anymore? (was the most expensive) -
Wise Transfers- Caution - Fees
KhunBENQ replied to Raindancer's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
No change for EUR transfers. There had always been different options with different prices. Cheap option cost about 14 EUR for 2000 (0.7%). There were slight increases over the years. I remember about 0.62% in the past. -

Paying for a vehicle , transfer or pay in cash ?
KhunBENQ replied to Billpro785's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
For >online< transactions at Bangkok Bank I could set limits without a problem. That after BKB as one of few banks was able to install facial recognition for foreigners. Waived at SCB. -
Paying for a vehicle , transfer or pay in cash ?
KhunBENQ replied to Billpro785's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
That's a new one. 50k limit for >cash withdrawal<?? No. As written, take passport, bank book and card to the branch and withdraw as much as you want/have. -
Do some People have no concept of Noise?
KhunBENQ replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Friend in Jomtien moved from his poolside condo 2nd floor to opposite side. 8th floor. The noise by the Russians was too much. And that was at least 6 years ago. He speaks some Russian. So no sceptical questions please. -

KhunBENQ replied to Kiwifarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If this comes true it's another kick in the ... for westerners. Keep away! 90 days on a Non O for more than 400 Euro?? 90 days for Russians: 0 Ruble. -

New Visa fees beginning on 19th March 2024
KhunBENQ replied to Kiwifarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ministry of foreign affairs (MFA) still publishes prices for Non-O single as 2000 Baht, multiple entry 5000 Baht. From that the consulates worldwide calculate their local prices. 1900 Baht is not a visa fee. Fee for one year extension. Completely different topic. I know about the 2000 Baht from own experience. Paid that in 2022 for a >visa!< issued by Khon Kaen immigration (a special case). If this NZ price explosion would apply worldwide we would hear a lot about it. For now I put it on wait and see. -

Indeed hard to believe. Who pays for a single entry Non-O as follows: 389 GBP 493 USD 465 EUR !!! In Berlin a single entry Non-O cost 70 EUR. -
Send GBP to THB now or wait?
KhunBENQ replied to nomad2019's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
And the THB weakness gives quite good rates looking at long time charts. Don't expect GBP to come back to the times before Brexit though. After 23rd June 2016 the downturn started. -
Tragic three-car crash in Chon Buri kills two, injures five
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Read somewhere that there are three times as many road deaths in the night compared to daytime. And that with less vehicles on the roads. Of course only a fraction appears in English language reporting. In the district town there was a nightly accident where a pickup crashed full speed into a group of vehicles waiting at the red light. The wreck is stored at the police station together with all the other clumps of metal. -
Tragic three-car crash in Chon Buri kills two, injures five
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
My guess: 1:30 AM, driver of black car fallen asleep, swerving to opposite lane. It's obviously an undivided road. 1:30 AM a good time to sleep, bad time to drive a car. -
Searching for my Thai tax ID (TIN)
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
That's the starting point: https://www.rd.go.th/english/30115.html From there to efiling: https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-efiling-web/register All in Thai but with Chrome you get a good translation. The pictures shows what happens after entering my foreigner ID. I navigated further to a point where a "password forgotten" option is found, But leads to nowhere (recovery questions/answers without success). I will not try to get further until required. Guess a visit at the local RD office with wife would be necessary, (click on image for full size) -

Searching for my Thai tax ID (TIN)
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
As mentioned: the application at the RD is based on my Thai ID nr. which I already had at the time. So I assume the 10 digit number of 2016 is now replaced by that ID. What supports the idea is, that the website signaled that I already have an online account when using this citizen ID. What remains unclear for the moment is that I can't remember having given e-mail and password. -
Searching for my Thai tax ID (TIN)
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
My current entry is based on Thai ID number for foreigners (yellow book/pink card). So I hope I won't need an address certificate. Or is it simply my 13 digit Thai ID number for foreigners? (6-...). -
Never did any COD payment with Lazada or Shopee. Mostly trough Bangkok Bank debit card. Always entering data from scratch (no "save card"). Last Shopee payment from 18 Jan 2024. ("Payment Method Mobile Banking") Last Lazada payment from 6 Feb 2024 paid by debit card. Guess about 20 payments through the year.

I also tried to use some online services from the RD. When entering my foreigner ID it says I am already registered. Just that I can't remember any details
