  1. Bump. Situation is unchanged. No other members affected or what's wrong? They don't show any problems on their site/Facebook.
  2. And this thread should be in the motor forum. in Bangkok higher fuel consumption of course. Average speed? 10 km/h????
  3. Mazda 2, 1.4l ccm I use about 7.3 l/100 km of E20. 7.3*33.5=224 Baht/100 km. So 2.4 Baht/km. Number varies of course. Less on long distance highway. More in stop/go. Fuel goes up and down. Difference between 95 gasohol and E20 has risen to 2.3 Baht. The 33.5 is a realistic number for our area. Fuel cheaper along the eastcoast. Expensive towards the north.
  4. To be precise: for the first extension in 2012 I had the amount in a normal savings account. It was the immigration officer(!) at Khon Kaen who suggested I should better move it to a fixed deposit. At that time there was a significant interest rate on these.
  5. It's your choice. I have a separate fixed deposit account since ever. No transactions at ATM or over internet possible. Much recommended. The fixed deposit must allow withdrawal of the current balance at any time (only loosing interest). I think the topic is better in the visa forum. Similar has been discussed multiple times.
  6. A mate had his online report rejected repeatedly without finding a reason. (I also went through the usual questionnaire about date/passport nr. etc.) He had done successful online reports in the past. Yesterday he was at the KK immigration office and did his report without any complaints. Asking why the online reports were rejected gave no conclusion. Looks like the reject happens before it reached the respecting office. The website form does not require first and middle name. He filled only his family name. Is it possible that something has changed here? Does the mobile app form accept family name only? Otherwise I am clueless why his reports were rejected.
  7. Read comments at "Downdetector" dated July 2nd. https://downdetector.com/status/my-social-security/
  8. yes https://www.ssa.gov/ is OK "Sign in" times out as unreachable. Response from secure.ssa.gov took too long. Repeated with VPN to USA. Basically the same just saying "closed unexpectedly". Would assume it's a fault on their side?
  9. Who needs a steering wheel on the right side if you can have a grabbing stick https://www.thedrive.com/news/tesla-gave-uk-owners-this-clawed-backscratcher-instead-of-right-hand-drive Not April fools news.
  10. Wish I could find English language reports about the catastrophic migration of Postbank IT to Deutsche Bank in Germany. In the headlines again and again since months. https://www.marketscreener.com/quote/stock/DEUTSCHE-BANK-AG-56358396/news/IT-changeover-annoys-Postbank-customers-bank-sees-no-major-problems-43417929/ That was in March. Scenario repeats.
  11. If I smell smartphone payment in front of me I look for another queue available. After the cashier has done the scanning the surprising moment comes: pay! Oh wow. Now dig for my phone in the LV bag. Swipe swipe swipe, click click click... ????
  12. With all respect and not scaling down Pattaya but for Suvarnabhumi the Pattaya transit is not a huge junk. You would hardly notice.
  13. There is always a chance that flightstats(.com) misses charter flights. But as written with this site nothing found. And what deeper offseason for Pattaya can there be than now.
  14. Come on! It's an international hub. Flights to Dubai and Macau (!). Guess what demand the latter one serves Absolutely stunning: I found one flight out of the 6AM to 6PM slot: 23:15 (11:15 PM) to Dubai. So there must be a small group of immigration officers who are shuttled to UTP for this late night flight (only international flight on this day). Reminds me of the "Immigration Desk" at Khon Kaen airport. Yes there is one. I didn't find Russia flights anymore.
  15. Same experience with Bangkok Bank website working. But to be fair: nothing to do with bad app software but much worse with the PromptPay backend. And that is alarming. Just a little taste of what would happen in an "IT world war". Some military subs have cutting devices and not for fishing nets. Some say: three days without internet and the world comes to an end Preppers to the front.
  16. As the thread is in Pattaya local forum for no reason I overlooked it Yes Bangkok Bank app gave overload warning and simply ignored/timed out when trying to do a transfer. BUT: I opened the website and did some stuff without a problem. Possible explanation is PromptPay being the culprit which is irrelevant for the website. Yes unrelated and unchanged. KBank still not prepared for foreigner facial scan. Same as SCB.
  17. A necessary consequence of this throttling has not been pointed out. No Twitter account no view. Before it was usually possible to view content without a Twitter account. Now without being loggedin you can see nothing. If you sent a Twitter link to someone "anonymous" he sees a misleading "something went wrong" message. Very professional. Wonder whether the Twitter image/video downloaders still work? Tried one and it fails. Fortunately you can easily extract links from Twitter images and they seem to work for everyone.
  18. That's why I asked WiFi or cable In my room PC and notebook on cable with gigabit switch. WiFi is for gadgets (mobiles and tablets).
  19. Nonsense post of the day or just hidden satire? Have you ever left your farang ghetto?
  20. Sure, pull not push. And as in the OP: hold the handrail and for a minute (only) keep your eyes and fingers off the mobile. Very hard for many Thais I know, but please try.
  21. In the SCB app there is a separate section for card setup. Locking certain features or all (temporary). Very important: check whether international online payment is enabled or not. They had it disabled by default a while ago.
  22. Nothing ???? "Let's SCB" they call mine Mastercard 100 Baht enrollment 200 Baht annual 500k/day for shopping Can do contactless/swiping 1 million/day for withdrawal (if limits have been set accordingly). When reading at SCB I see a free alert service via LINE connect? Anybody knows how it works?
