New Visa fees beginning on 19th March 2024
KhunBENQ replied to Kiwifarang's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ministry of foreign affairs (MFA) still publishes prices for Non-O single as 2000 Baht, multiple entry 5000 Baht. From that the consulates worldwide calculate their local prices. 1900 Baht is not a visa fee. Fee for one year extension. Completely different topic. I know about the 2000 Baht from own experience. Paid that in 2022 for a >visa!< issued by Khon Kaen immigration (a special case). If this NZ price explosion would apply worldwide we would hear a lot about it. For now I put it on wait and see. -

Indeed hard to believe. Who pays for a single entry Non-O as follows: 389 GBP 493 USD 465 EUR !!! In Berlin a single entry Non-O cost 70 EUR. -
Send GBP to THB now or wait?
KhunBENQ replied to nomad2019's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
And the THB weakness gives quite good rates looking at long time charts. Don't expect GBP to come back to the times before Brexit though. After 23rd June 2016 the downturn started. -
Tragic three-car crash in Chon Buri kills two, injures five
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Read somewhere that there are three times as many road deaths in the night compared to daytime. And that with less vehicles on the roads. Of course only a fraction appears in English language reporting. In the district town there was a nightly accident where a pickup crashed full speed into a group of vehicles waiting at the red light. The wreck is stored at the police station together with all the other clumps of metal. -
Tragic three-car crash in Chon Buri kills two, injures five
KhunBENQ replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
My guess: 1:30 AM, driver of black car fallen asleep, swerving to opposite lane. It's obviously an undivided road. 1:30 AM a good time to sleep, bad time to drive a car. -
Searching for my Thai tax ID (TIN)
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
That's the starting point: https://www.rd.go.th/english/30115.html From there to efiling: https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-efiling-web/register All in Thai but with Chrome you get a good translation. The pictures shows what happens after entering my foreigner ID. I navigated further to a point where a "password forgotten" option is found, But leads to nowhere (recovery questions/answers without success). I will not try to get further until required. Guess a visit at the local RD office with wife would be necessary, (click on image for full size) -

Fiddled on the RD site. I will try as you suggest. -
Searching for my Thai tax ID (TIN)
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
As mentioned: the application at the RD is based on my Thai ID nr. which I already had at the time. So I assume the 10 digit number of 2016 is now replaced by that ID. What supports the idea is, that the website signaled that I already have an online account when using this citizen ID. What remains unclear for the moment is that I can't remember having given e-mail and password. -
Searching for my Thai tax ID (TIN)
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
My current entry is based on Thai ID number for foreigners (yellow book/pink card). So I hope I won't need an address certificate. Or is it simply my 13 digit Thai ID number for foreigners? (6-...). -
Never did any COD payment with Lazada or Shopee. Mostly trough Bangkok Bank debit card. Always entering data from scratch (no "save card"). Last Shopee payment from 18 Jan 2024. ("Payment Method Mobile Banking") Last Lazada payment from 6 Feb 2024 paid by debit card. Guess about 20 payments through the year.

Searching for my Thai tax ID (TIN)
KhunBENQ replied to KhunBENQ's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I also tried to use some online services from the RD. When entering my foreigner ID it says I am already registered. Just that I can't remember any details -
Years ago I was at the revenue department and applied for return of witholding tax. It was approved and I obviously was registered and should have a TIN? The only document I can find is a "K.21" (ค.21) from 2016. Can someone confirm that the (pixelated) number (10 digits) appearing twice is the TIN? (not sure from translation results). I am interested as there is a chance that my German bank would ask for (happens from Swiss banks regularly).

Guess they won't have much time for party. Likely participating in that salvage operation for the sunken Thai Navy ship. (that's the only current news about US navy and Thailand) https://aseannow.com/topic/1320541-thai-us-mission-launched-to-find-remains-of-missing-htms-sukhothai-crew/

Recreational Cannabis Now Legal In Germany
KhunBENQ replied to HugoFastor's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Yes. Can be delayed by the federal council but not be impeded. And the warnings are loud and many fold. 25 grams of cannabis allowed to carry in public. Street dealers dream. -
Exactly that and I have it from talking to some agent in Pattaya (some 2 or 3 years ago). Bangkok Bank otherwise "complicated". So this for those who use an agent with "shady" methods. A sentence from the agent to a customer that I remember: all I need is your passport and the money. "The money" being the 25k Baht for his special service.

Suvarnabhumi Airport sorry after train breakdown causes 30-minute delay
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Oh those test engineers. Tests are a significant cause of disaster (see Chernobyl). My last job: <deleted> Soo inconvenient. -
And showing the many alternatives around Pattaya. Home Pro at BigC Extra is convenient and probably serves similar interests. And if that is not enough, just follow the road passing BigC Extra parking entrance and get to the back entrance of the really big HomePro on Sukhumvit (without ever driving on Sukhumvit).

Checked their website and found nothing in the Pattaya area. One location halfway to Bangkok.

Impossible to think that such details of a deceased's apartment are shown to public in western countries (medication [tranquilizer], many notes in English(!), a brochure in Russian [maybe multi language], walking stick, false teeth...).

Many empty bottles that you can call opened to cause some confusion.
