Get Real
Yep! 15 years old, party and motorbike. 3 ingredients that clearly should be illegal.
jaiyen
Slow learners in fast lane for a fast death. Thai kids will never learn road manners or common sense. "Whats a crash helmet ?"

They are all illegal but Pattaya police do not enforce these laws as there's nothing in it for them. After dark (ie when the police are cowering in bed) Sukhumvit becomes a racetrack for under age racers most with no lights. Thailand is World Number 1 in the motorbike death league. The (lack of) police must bear the brunt of the blame.

Pdaz
Yet another example of why a full face crash helmet is the only option. Might be hot and your hair gets messy. But at least your teeth, nose and jaw will be intact. I wonder if he will learn from this experience ? Doubtful. No gloves either by the state of his hands.. Why I agree that Police should enforce the law. It is undoubtedly down to the individual to consider the consequences of an unprotected accident. For myself I wouldn't ride anywhere without jeans, helmet, boots and gloves. I don't need a law to enforce what should just be common sense.. As for blame, try the parents and the education system who all have access to the kids before the police.

It should be socially unacceptable to ride without a helmet. Parents should not allow their 15 years olds to ride without helmets.

stanleycoin
Oh well, one more party at the Wat. Shame on the parents, and authorities of Thailand. You care not about your children. You have the power to change this, but you choose not to do so. Lazy people. Darwin wins again.
Titan1962
It's very hard to change the culture, if the police don't enforce the laws already in place. So it comes with the territory, just another rider thinking he is invincible. WRONG 555555

Thechook
To young to be on the roads and what about his parents? Who let's their child on the roads without a licence, they should be held totally responsible for letting him take the bike onto the roads. " Several times my knee looked like his , ouch ! Head never looked like that though as always wore a crash hat.

Parents should of course make sure he wears a helmet and does not drink and drive.
