Pattaya police have arrested a Russian man who appeared drunk after he and his companions hit and injured a Thai man and a Hong Kong tourist on a Pattaya street late Wednesday night.

Witnesses told police several Russians were walking on the street at 10pm and quarreling with passers-by.

When police were alerted and arrived at the scene, most of the group managed to escape and only one man was arrested.

Police did not reveal the name of the arrested Russian.

The injured Hong Kong tourist was identified as Wong Yuk Mo, 65. He suffered head injuries and was rushed to a hospital.

The Thai man, Patipha Paetkul, 20, a messenger, was also injured.

He said he was riding his motorcycle on a delivery when the group of men, including the arrested man, blocked his way. He said he tried to avoid the group but one of them hit his helmet and another pushed him, resulting in a fistfight before police arrived.

Such animals deserve extra care and attention...deportation straight away and get banned for re-entry!....

They are destroying the image of Thailand and covey a high feeling of insecurity within the country.

But there seems to be higher priority to harass the quality tourists or expats on visa and immigration issues!

There lived a certain man in Russia long ago
He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear
But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear

And his name was Rasputin and he is still among us

It's only the start guys!

Thailand is wooing the Russians like never before as "quality" tourists from Europe are down....and hopefully, will continue to avoid Thailand.

They(Rooskies) are big buggers and can, and do, cause a lot of damage.

One rung up the ladder from a good old fashioned UK pavement pizza.

Someone said quality Russian tourists are coming back during the high season. This must be the advance vanguard leading group of the quality tourists from Putinland. Nothing but drunks are coming back

Quality  tourist/alien , the criteria is how much money they spend in the kingdom.

A bit of grevious  who cares, Money welcome , good for thai economy .

CCs go home , if you can afford too. 555

The Thai authorities would never accept advice from foreigners, about who should be allowed in or not, but they sure need it. They are so naive it's incredible, in the true sense of the word.

Their dumb arse way of then treating the rest of us, 90 day reporting dare I mention, is a farce. There are so many illegal Russians running their own shows in Pattaya and Phuket, and the scum-of-all-sorts, Blacks and Arabs loitering Na Na and other cesspools in Bangkok,  it's worse than a joke. They are hopeless.

Love it how a thread about a Russian assaulting someone, some posters will turn the thread around so to be able to bash the Thais.

Absolutly pathetic

Someone enlighten me please.

If any of us went to Russia for a holiday, got drunk and committed the exact same offences.....what would be the outcome?

You would get smacked down. I lived there for 2 years. They hate Americans the most. Not unusual to cop some grief when going out from an idiot or two.
