You can only apply for a OA visa in your home country or country of legal residence.

You could apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration.

And over 50 years old?

Then why travel to Singapore when you can get the one year extension at your local immigration office?

It is not be a visa of any kind. It is a extension of the 90 day permit to stay from a non immigrant category O visa.

You can apply for a change of visa status to get the 90 day entry at immigration up to the last 15 days of any of the 60 day entries from your tourist visa.

The money you have in bank is enough to apply for the visa and then an extension of stay during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the visa.

Correct

No medical certificate or police check is needed.

Just the bank letter confirming the balance and your updated bank book. For the visa application the bank letter must confirm the funds came from abroad. The money will need to be in the bank for 60 days on the date you apply for the extension.

No doctor's certificate or police check is required for the change of status from tourist entry to non immigrant entry, or for the one year extension. The main issue you may face is that Kanchanaburi may dislike doing the conversion because it involves them in a fair bit of work. If you make it clear that you know what they need to do, hopefully they will do their job.

But for the visa application the letter must state the funds came from abroad.

Either get it in writing that they refused to do the conversion or go to Bangkok to apply for the visa and infor them Kanchanaburi refused to do it.

You could get the non-o visa in Penang or Savannakhet but you need proof you are retired. Others have gotten a income letter from their embassy to prove a small of amount of income or have done a statement that that they were retired at their embassy that has been accepted as proof they are retired.

I went to kanchanaburi immigration for a second time they told me they don't do changs of status to non o visa and advised me to go to vientaine to get visa they also advised me i need 21 days left on my visa which i didn't have so i drove to myanma and got a 2 month stamp I contacted bangkok they informed me that i have to do in the provence where i live and that kanchanaburi can do the conversion to non o so back we go to kanchanaburi with all documents they were not happy they were very nasty to my wife and informed her they now require 2 copies of all documents and if we put the application in at their office they wouldn't gaurantee it would get approved so we left again to get another copy of our documents but realizing they most likely would reject my application we decided to drive to vientaine i now have a non o visa no thanks to kanchanaburi

Hmm, looks like Kanchanaburi are a third rogue office (in addition to Jomtien and Maptaput as reported on other recent threads) who are refusing to process non-O conversions. Wonder how many more have yet to crawl out of the woodwork?
