Temple defends it’s innocence in spending state funds

A temple in Bangkok has insisted that the fund it was allocated by the National Office of Buddhism (NOB) was all spent up in the maintenance of the monasteries in the temple.

 

The temple, Wat Ratsitharam, is one of the four temples whose abbots were accused by the Counter Corruption Division (CCD) police of embezzlement of the maintenance funds given to them by the NOB.

 

According to the CCD, Wat Ratsitharam was allocated 5.7 million baht for maintenance of monasteries in the temple.
