Three arrested in Bangkok, 86,000 meth pills seized

By The Nation

Three Bangkok residents, two men and a woman, were on Monday allegedly found in possession of 86,000 methamphetamine pills, 200 grams of crystal meth and 450 grams of ketamine.

Pol Gen Chalermkiart Sriworakhan, deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, waited until Wednesday to announce the arrests of Prissadee Kingsawat, 26, Siraroj Chanphet , 24, and Natcha Thongsa, 19.

Chalermkiart said the Narcotics Suppression Bureau was tipped off that the drugs would be delivered to a buyer on Soi Boromratchannonee 23 and staked out the location.

A car in which the three suspects were allegedly riding entered the lane and a bag was dropped in the grass at the side of the road.

While one team of police followed the car, another examined the bag and found 6,000 meth pills and 50 grams of “ice” (crystal meth) inside.

The car was pulled over on Ratchadapisek Road in Talad Phu, Thonburi district, and the occupants were taken to their house in Taling Chan, where 80,000 more meth pills, 150 grams of ice and the ketamine were allegedly found.
