Sig Sauer is a joint Swiss-German company. the U.S. company SIGARMS is an importer and distributor of Sig Sauer firearms.

From the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIG_Sauer#SIG_Sauer_Inc.

SIG Sauer Inc.

In January 1985 SIGARMS was established in Tyson's Corner, Virginia where the handgun models P220 and P230 were imported into the US from SIG Sauer in Germany. Two years later the firm moved to a larger facility in Herndon, Virginia and introduced models P225, P226, and P228.

SIGARMS moved to Exeter, New Hampshire, in 1990 where production facilities had been established and production began on the P229 in 1992.

The parent company, SIG Sauer GmbH, is a subsidiary of manufacturing firm L&O Holding, which also owns Swiss Arms AG which was formerly a division of Sig Holding AG. Since 2000 SIG Sauer Inc has been organizationally separate from manufacturer SIG Sauer GmbH. SIGARMS, and its European sister companies, J.P. Sauer & Sohn, Blaser US, Mauser Jagdwaffen GmbH, and Swiss Arms were bought by Michael Lüke and Thomas Ortmeier in October 2000. In 2007 SIGARMS changed its name to SIG Sauer.

You may well be right but on a two dimension photo how do you know for certain where it is pointing?  The shoulders all show all girls stacked behind him and each other. Therefore they are POSSIBLY all behind him.  And the photographer could have asked them to move in a bit after they had carefully posed. Let''s not jump to conclusions.

No, not being allowed to jump to conclusions would take all the fun out of backbiting!

National police chief Jakthip Chaijinda was pictured holding a new US gun that is set to become standard for police in Thailand.

The Sig Sauer P320SP will be issued to 150,000 officers nationwide.

The first consignment of 5,000 arrived yesterday with the chief saying that their quality, efficiency and capability will help his men do their job to the standard we all expect.

He also said he got a bargain - the 23,000 baht for each one is below the usual market price, he told Tnews.

Some 22,000 more will arrive in October then each month subsequently more will come into Thailand until the 150,000 order is complete.

The chief also spoke of upgrading police with better body armor, especially in the three insurgent provinces in the far south of the country.

$800 in US

A friend of my in New Mexico told me today that he can buy the Sig Sauer P320SP for $550.  So either the government procurement office got taken for a ride for their bulk purchase of 150,000 pistols, or.......I'll leave that to the reader's imagination should they understand how things works here in the LOS -- 23,000 THB compared to a comparable US retail price of 18,380 THB at the current exchange rate.  Wonder where that extra 4,260 THB went to???
4,260 x 150,000 = 639,000,000 THB.  Boy, that will keep someone flush with nice cars and mia nois for quite awhile.
