PHUKET:-- Patong Police Chief Col Tassanai Orarigdech says he is looking into the actions of a foreign man, believed to be German, who was recorded on video lying down on the footpath and making himself comfortable in the gutter in Patong earlier this week.

The man’s behaviour was bright to light after a video of him was posted on Facebook yesterday (Oct 9) by “O Lai Thai”, with the comment in Thai asking, “Here in Patong, why do foreigners have to do like this?”

The Thai man recording the video was was happy to tell some passers-by in Thai that the man was drunk or on drugs, while telling others that he wasn’t sure if the foreign man was drunk or on drugs.

A police officer is seen approaching the man, but takes no action after the foreign man offers an overly respectful wai and returns to the footpath.

<deleted> me, is there any incident over here that a wai doesn't get you off the hook ! :clap2:

I guess the police might have some other more important things to deal with on their agenda. Totally worthless piece of information.

OK, he might be stupid but does not appear to be doing anything illegal.

Apart from not wearing a shirt in a public place!

theres lots of thai people lying around in gutters around onnut.... what so special about a european doing that....

I feel he is trying to impress the girls with six pack and his 'big bell' underneath. :sleepy:

I do see many homeless Thais sit on the site walk with bags like this too. The most occupiers are the street vendors.

It is not against the law to not wear a shirt, unless driving.

Walk into your local police station without a shirt and ask them!

No need, i know the law.

Its clear the police have nothing more important to do

Keystone Cops at their best

I guess somebody sold him fake alcohol which germans are not used to.

Or they sold him harddrugs.

This is abnormal behaviour for a German but when i look at the contructionworkers nextdoor they also grab themselves in the crotch all the time....

Or they are digging deep in their nose...

All part of the big plan to make farangs look bad and welcome the "Choice tourists" from China and Russia!!!

The only unusual aspect of this story is that the guy is German. Scandinavians lying drunk on the floor is quite normal in Karon and Kata!

The BIBS are not the law, nor do they officially make it,they are supposed to enforce it, and they do, sometimes....if there is an incentive in it.

Are the German minds being so screwed up? There was one big legged at Pattaya and now we have one footpath shit in Phuket.

Och my goodness this is probably Newative complaining about the small size pavements?

Idiots are idiots. Can't be explained. I saw a video yesterday of 3 men on a bike steal a woman's purse after she had a accident on a bike holding an umbrella.
